I assume you're going to take pics of the Corsair turbo next to your stock Maverick turbo. :)
Yes I will! That may take a bit, as I stil have things to buy and parts to make.

Thought I would share this here. I took apart one of the Ranger wastegates that I have to see what is what.

So far I have pinned out the motor leads and am working to determine which pin is ground, CAN High and CAN Low.

If anyone has a good resource to look of the computer chip that might really help open up what can be done with these.

I expected them to be simple/cheap. It would be awesome if they all have the same pinout!

If what ive read is true, people have been swapping out the 2.3 block for the 2.0.. 2.0 is stronger. main difference i saw when i blew it up on SnapOn EPC what the 2.3 has a balance shaft and the 2.0 does not.. also curious to know if the focus RS turbo is better than the ranger turbo. the mounting design looks similar. Different part numbers across the board. waiting for mine to land so i can start my build. Going insane with it though and shooting for as much power as the rods will hold. FWIW you can still buy RS transmissions from ford ;);) i cant get you the actual list price and part numbers tomorrow morning.
The focus rs uses a traditional vacuum actuated wastegate, so idk how you would mitigate the ecu's control of it. From what I understand, guys have made well over 400whp fron the focus rs factory turbo, so yeah, way bigger than a Ranger turbo. In fact, it's probably the largest turbo Ford puts on a gas engine!

If they mount up the same, you can probably get away with getting the manifold elbow and use an aftermarket turbo.. I’ll be R&D all that once mine arrives.

Otherwise you’ll probably have to delete/disable the electrical wastegate and go traditional. Probably get a tune developed for that setup with the Ford Focus RS setup as a basis to build off of.

That would be awesome! I don't know much about tuning the ecoboost, but hopefully it's easy to do.

Yea, the construction is not very robust looking(CHEAP). Wonder what the longevity of these controllers will be? I hope they are cheap and easy to replace.
Guaranteed if these prove to be failure prone over the long run, somebody will come out with aluminum replacements for these gearsets eventually.

All it takes is someone with a (metal) 3D printer to scan it into the system and let her eat! I wish i wouldve jumped on the 3D printer wave before demand went down in my area and they became a bit harder to come across.

Just a small update: On the way back from a Bball game last night, I drove by a scale with it's lights on, so I ran the truck up on it. Probably should have taken a picture, but I just rolled up, stopped, then a few seconds later left, lol.

Truck weighed 4000lbs on the dot. Well, within 10lbs anyway, scales show in increments of 20lbs. That was with my standard towing stuff in it, and my daughter and her Bball stuff. Realistically without her, day to day is roughly 3910lbs.

FInally going to make it to the track tonight! Two weeks in a row the track wasn't open to street vehicles....

I'm pretty sure I freed up some more HP last night, and I'm hoping I can put down some good times! We shall see!

EDIT: I also weighed a stock steelie wheel and tire, and it came in at 50.4lbs.

Thanks for looking, more updates coming tonight after the races.

100%, but $900 for wheels isn't in my current budget, lol. The only rims I'll put on here is Hypergrams, in 17x7, and I believe those are 15.5lbs each.

Well, first time at the track was a somewhat failure. I didn't run too bad, but the downpipe didn't seemcto make the difference I thought it would. I really gotta get some datalogs so I can get some revisions!

DA started over 2200', and tapered down to about 1700' I think. A far cry from the last couple weekends where it was negative DA.

Fastest pas was [email protected]. I ran 8 passes, a also ran my Dragy for each run as well. 60' were pretty decent, with a best of 1.944.

Number 1310 on the timeslips.

Only additional mod was a 3" downpipe.

Ok, so update! I should have made this post before the last one, but didn't have time. I decided to make an offroad pipe for the track. 3", with a 3" flex pipe. The welds are absolutely terrible, but it is what it is, lol.

Making this downpipe either needs better programming, or the turbo is just completely maxed. I don't think it's totally maxed, because I've hit higher mph with the factory downpipe. I'll work on getting some datalogs and revisions and see where it goes.

Another small update. I switched over to my 93 octane tune, and did a quick datalog to get my first revision, to see if I can gain some mph. I think I can squeeze quite a bit more out, but we will see! Hopefully this week or in a few weeks I can get back to the track with some better DA and put down a 12 second pass on the factory turbo!

Great thread you have going here! I appreciate all the updates. I'm hoping to run a 5.2-5.3 this week with revision 3.
