I recently took delivery of my ‘24 Hybrid Lariat after seventeen months. I had a private offer of $2500 and my Farm Bureau rebate.
I asked about the $2500 price protection of $2500. I purchased the Mav at current MSRP. The dealer told me the private offer of $2500 and the $2500 price protection were one and the same. The dealer would be getting the $2500 check would come to them for the price protection.
Am I being taken for $2500? I thought the private offer was in addition to everything else for waiting 17 months.
Has anyone had the same experience?

The private offer is a different thing than price protection. You should have received the private offer and price protection for the 12/23 price increase. Good luck!

“Price protection” is for increases in price within the same model year. For example the 2024 XL trim went up by 400ish dollars in December 23. If you had an order in for a 2024 XL before that price hike, then you are in theory price protected. “Private offers” were year over year transition offers given for rollover orders who stuck around. You got the private offer, which is correct bc I don’t think Lariat pricing went up during the 2024 model year.

I missed that part. Yeah, it was just XL Mavericks as best I can tell.

Your dealer is correct.
So because I placed my original order on 9-17-22 and was forced to a ‘24 rollover, I’m not entitled to price protection? All I know is the dealer is getting a check for $2500 after I applied my private offer of $2500 was deducted from the increased price. The dealer price was msrp. It just seems disappointing to me. The dealer receives full msrp and the price protection check of $2500!

And the dealer paid full invoice for the truck. So they're only getting ~5% of that $2500.
