2023 XLT Hybrid 17k miles. Daily driver 100 miles weekly. Over past year, several episodes of pre collision not available, front camera fault notification error when first start truck but also occasionally would happen during driving, seemed random. Have had it at the dealer 5 times. Most recent was end of October 2025 (now a month ago). There have been different attempts at fixing the problem. Reset codes, perform software recall updates, replaced front camera. After each dealer visit, the error would return either same day or within a day. Then the 5th time, the dealer kept the truck for 2-3 days. This time, reported poor pin fit #4 at connector C9039. Pigtail was replaced, codes cleared and no further error episodes over the past month since this fix performed. Of course under warranty.

I just wanted to report my experience with ford service. My local dealer has valet service and came to my work to pickup and drop off my truck and when the loaner was needed. Even updates with text messages for arrival and shows map where they are with my truck. I have been very happy with my truck over past 2.5 years of use. Only problems was the carpet needed replaced due to mold from water leak after manufacturing defect at glove box installation (previously did a post) and now this pre collision camera fault. I have an ESP as well (just in case--thanks Granger) since most of the problems I have had were not drive train related.

The pre-collision alert uses the front camera, so if your camera is obscured with heavy rain, snow or bugs or dirt, then it is normal to get this warning.

Nope, not the error I was receiving. Obstruction error is a different error and goes away when all the things you describe are not covering the camera. Mine was a "fault" error

Thank you. The Maverick is our first hybrid and we bought the ESP, and from what I'm seeing a number of posters have found it to be helpful rather than a waste of money.

I had that same problem along with shift system faults and the parking brake locking on. They ended up replacing the entire front wire harness that took 6 months to get. Mainly was a 40 pin plug located under the front left fender. Got water in it and corded the can - bus . They filled the new plugs up with dielectric grease to prevent it from happening again
