Mine has been set to the highest settings since day one, it alerted me plenty of times but never activated the brakes yet, I agree the most of the time it comes from nowhere and there's no need but in few times it did the job, so I'm happy to have it as assistant.

And yes it definitely need to be more consistent on the functionality, hopefully as the tech improve so does this system as well.

I no longer rely on mine. I can be doing 70 and someone jumps in front of me and nothing. I can be doing 25 and someone slows down to turn and it goes off. It obviously does not work like it is suppose to, so I assume it never will. I have all my driver assist crap turned down as much as possible. I may be 70, but I still know how to drive. Not impressed with any Ford engineer that designed this software.
As long as the car that jumps in front of you is going faster then you, you will not get a message until you are closing in on him.

I like to drive overnight on long road trips so I'm looking forward to having the radar as a backup ... Sorta like an extra pair of eyes that can see in the dark 👀
