Good morning folk's
Wife was heading out in my 22, eco boost maverick all of sudden she lost power an had to stop on side of the road, luckily she was just at the end of our street, and with this error you are still able to limp around at slow speeds so she was able to turn around and get it parked at our house.
My Mavericks VIN is listen in the recent recall which we haven't received via mail yet and just been bouncing around online and the symptoms sound like the 12V failure recall.
I started my maverick later that night to see if I could move it to the other side of the street for easier access to have towed and it seemed to be working fine.....which is odd, either way we had it towed to ford to have it looked at and I brought up the suspected recall, they said they would look into it for me but I may need to pay the $185.00 shop rate for diagnostics, which I get, however if it the recall issue in the end I imagine I can talk to them about having that waived. Wish me luck I'll keep you folks updated as I should here later today on the situation, my main concern is if it is the recall and they don't have the issued fix yet, and can't do anything, hard to feel safe if they give the truck back when the same thing could potentially happen when at high speed on a highway or something could be catastrophic.
also to note I'm just over 60,000km so my main bumper to bumper warranty has expired however power train warranty is 100,000km / 5 years so at least I'm covered if it is an actual power train issue.
