Power seat height adjustment

When looking at the manual I am a bit confused. Once I bought the car and set the seat I left it. To me the manual looks Ike it says the seat can raise and lower the rear or raise and lower the front independently But on mine it seems that button just raises and lowers the whole seat. Am I missing something?

It hinges on the front. The back tilts forward "raising" the seat.

With the seat in the lowest position the front of the seat cushion sits much higher in relation to the rear of the seat cushion. As you raise the seat the front of the seat cushion tilts downward. Thankfully Im only 5'8" and like the seat as high as possible. The max raised seat gets the front and back of the seat cushion to its most level position. I'd hate to be tall and have to put the seat in it's lowest position. I'd feel like I was riding a chopper motorcycle rather than driving a truck...and my legs would be falling asleep in minutes.

I am 6 foot tall wife is 5 foot tall. She has never driven my truck but will have to soon. She has a hard time in some cars. Guess I misunderstood how the height adjust ment works. We will find out soon.

What you, I and others are looking for is an 8 way seat, not the six we have for the drivers seat. My middle son, who has a Lariat, says the Escape 8 way seat will fit in the Mav; and my bride says just leave it alone! Since my torso is longer than my legs, the driver seat works for me, for her, the 4 way passenger seat is only good for short hauls only.

Thank you. Exactly right guess it was not exactly what I expected. Don't think I will be changing the seat anytime soon. She can put a pillow under her butt! She's done it before.

What you, I and others are looking for is an 8 way seat, not the six we have for the drivers seat. My middle son, who has a Lariat, says the Escape 8 way seat will fit in the Mav; and my bride says just leave it alone! Since my torso is longer than my legs, the driver seat works for me, for her, the 4 way passenger seat is only good for short hauls only.

I have a ‘23 Escape, which replaced a ‘20 Escape. I agree that the seat bottoms look like they will swap.
I looked into the electronics and wiring, that is where things get tricky. The seats have the memory feature; there is an extra sensor in the motor and an extra wire. There is an additional module under seat. The trickier thing is the memory includes the mirror. The module for that is in the door. It isn’t clear if one can skip the mirror part of all this or not; concerned the mirror motors will move and have no sensor to prevent bad things from happening. I didn‘t play with the Escape wiring/connections test theories; like if no sensor will it just assume the mirror is in the proper position???

For me, I‘d like to do the swap to get the memory seats. At this point, not sure the work is worth it. Kind of crossing my fingers the ‘25 Mav gets better power seats.

My one small gripe, I wish the seat truly went up/down, and didn't tip or move forward when raising it. Even at 6' 2", I could sit higher in the truck, but the seat moves forward, which place me too close to the pedals for comfort, so I don't raise it as much as I could. (No sunroof, and have 3-4 inches above my head).

They sell spacers that go between the seat frame and floor to raise the seats in many vehicles, including several Ford vehicles. I'm actually tempted to buy a set of 1.5" or 2" spacers, which would have the seat sit farther back allowing me to raise the seat without moving towards the pedals. (Of course I'd need two sets, so the passenger side matched).

Has anybody installed a set of spacers, and can recommend one? - They come in a variety of shapes, ranging from thick washer looking units, to those shaped to fit the contour of the floor.

I installed 1” spacers in the rear to help with the bottom seat cushion cutting into the back of my thighs causing left leg/foot pain. Eliminates about 70%. I went to Ace hardware. The factory bolts are M10x1.50 I believe. I bought 2 1/4” grade 8 bolts, 2 washers and 2 metal sleeves. So far so good. I can’t believe the Lariat Tremer package I have doesn’t allow the seat bottom to move independently. Huge fail for Ford IMO. Other then that I love the truck.

Correction - Maverick power seat is 8-way. Escape offers up to 10-way power which is where you get the separate tilt and height adjustments.

Would love an option to switch out to a 10 way power seat. If I could adjust the bottom I would buy it today lol.

Memory seats would be nice. I can't even get into a car after the wife uses it.
