I recently picked up a 25 Maverick Lariat and can’t seem to get the driver seat adjustment right. Has anyone had issues getting comfortable? I thought the seats just needed to break in a little. My legs feel too high and the front of the seat does not adjust.

Bring the seat up so that the back sits higher and play around with the steering wheel. The lack of an independently adjustable seat bottom is a massive failure in my opinion.

I am 5'7" and used a 1" spacer under the rear seat bracket and put in longer bolts. Fixed the issue for me. The OE bolts use a Torx + and I replaced with hex bolts and a washer. There are other threads on here with similar complaints.

I recently picked up a new 2025 Hybrid Lariat, and I wanted to share my experience regarding the seat comfort—or lack thereof. I'm 5'9" and honestly thought I was going crazy trying to get comfortable in the driver's seat. For about two weeks, I kept adjusting it, thinking I just hadn’t found the right position yet.

Ultimately, I came to the conclusion that the seat design itself is flawed. The only position where I felt remotely comfortable was with the seat at its highest setting, but then it ended up being way too close to the steering wheel. I couldn’t find a happy medium, and it became genuinely frustrating.

I hated the seat so much that I took it to a custom upholsterer. I had the seat bottom made slightly wider and a bit thicker for better support, and I also had it moved back by about an inch. The result? A huge improvement. The seat is now more comfortable than what I had in my Ford Platinum.

It was either make these modifications or sell the vehicle—yes, it was that uncomfortable for me. Just wanted to share this in case anyone else is dealing with the same issue. You're not alone, and there are solutions out there.

Dan,
I agree the Maverick seat isn't the most comfortable.
When the seat was at its highest position. Adjusting the steering wheel away from you did not help?

On my case 5-7, I normally put it on almost the height highest setting, and all the way back, with the back support almost straight. feels pretty comfy for me.

yep, thought
At 5'9" you were uncomfortable? I'm 6'2" and had to play with it a bit. Yes I wish I could raise the front a bit I prefer the back to sit lower. But as far as width and length. The seat is within 1/4" the width of my 2023 Silverado seats. Minimum height is the same and the depth of the seat bottom is 1 " deeper.
Trust me, I thought I was going crazy, but couldn't find the comfortable spot and really thought I was going crazy. Paid $40,000 and use this truck a lot so getting a few adjustments, including getting it moved back was the trick for me.
