When I was a kid in the Navy, I bought my very first new vehicle when I was stationed in the WashDC area. It was a 1985 Toyota 2WD pickup. I was so proud of my brand new truck!

Then, one morning in rural Maryland, my girlfriend and I came out of a breakfast place and found big, lifted 4x4 monster-style trucks parked on either side of my shiny new Toyota. It was downright shocking to see... I sure wish I had been carrying a camera (pre-cellphone days).

I laugh my ass off and park next to any huge truck I find. Two examples. One I parked next to my little brothers lifted Silverado, and the other I had to park next to these two other large truck (one dodge, one chevy, then my little Baby F-150 next to them lol

Took this pic the other day. This is a little truck in a big truck world in Metro Detroit. I'll gladly listen to my Metallica while getting 27.5mpg!

BTW-I totally understand if you have a large truck for a work truck (as in the white F250 Superduty). Shoutout to everyone who works hard in the Trades everyday.

Big pickups! Uniquely American and Canadian. I doubt there is any other place in the world for comparison.

Gas goes up, not so many big rigs bought. Gas price comes down, trucks get bigger and get bought. Gas goes up again.

I feel like most of us are being played for suckers.
