I do believe that if they did have the parts to build all of the orders that the allocation ordeal would be put by the wayside. There is no way Ford would sit on thousands of built units over allocation issues. I think there's more of an issue with people ordering multiple models that they're never going to buy. Good for Ford and the dealers but bad for their customers.
I agree with you there. But that only affects delivery not scheduling. Having VIN and dealing with logistical delays after is far easier to swallow than feeling like your order is completely ignored. Same end result? Probably close, but the customer experience would be improved.

You see this in many sectors with old technologies/methods unable to adapt to new trends.

Your argument is nullified by the dozens if not hundreds of later order hybrids identical if not more restricted than those of us with July/June orders that remain unscheduled. And that's just using this forum examples. The real world numbers are likely muliple thousands of like or more constrained hybrid builds from Aug/sept/oct being scheduled and some cases built before July/June orders.

People on here can keep arguing about constraints or tooting Fords chips exscuse all day long. But anyone even remotely following this can see the issue mostly allocations.

It's getting riduculous. We shouldn't have to pester Ford executives to take notice to get scheduled.
You are right, and it's even more complicated than that. Even if a dealer has some allocations, they have no control over which orders from that dealer that Ford chooses to build.

Point is, it is what it is. Either you wait, or do something else.

I have a June order for an XL Hybrid. I know for a fact that some later ordered higher trim Hybrids from my dealer were selected to be built before mine. So, how can I fix it?

Am I happy? No, but it is what it is. I've decided to wait because there is nothing out there that meets my criteria. If there was, I would go get that option. The Hyundai is not an option for me, as it does not meet several criteria I have. Plus, I don't care for the look of it.

So, I wait for my order to eventually get selected to build. If not in MY 2022, then MY 2023. I have not sold my existing car, it's running OK, so good to go there. I'm retired, so I wait. Not the end of the world.

I'm bought ready to jump ship....all these constant excuses by FMC....growing old....I'm sure the Ukrainian invasion will get thrown in there somewhere as a delay reason as well....

The rush...will surely affect quality on the line at some point. FMC knew of the chip shortage LONG before the release date of the Maverick...not sure why they waited so long to close ordering. These mid level procurement bean counters get paid over 120K to accurately forecast supply.

Might have splurge for higher quality and go Ridgeline...but I'm trying to hang on....
Just for a reality check I went to Honda website and built a Ridgeline and seeing the price and mpg, I decided that Maverick still wins even with delays. 😁

They will probably partially build them and park them in a lot somewhere until the parts come it, its what they are doing with every other ford model they dont have chips for.
Yep, I ordered in Dec 2021, Changed my order and waiting. The order from December is built and waiting on chips in Mexico. It was an XL, but moved up to an XLT and Lux, etc. Should have stay with the Dec 2021 order. So they are quick on the XL's, And I forgot, its an EcoBoost, Not Hybrid

Depends. I have a June 17, 2021 XL Hybrid on order, with only option being a trailer hitch. Still not scheduled. So, nothing is for sure.

FYI, my HYBRID XL with Co-Pilot360, Trailer Hitch Receiver and factory Spray in Bed Liner ordered on July 23rd, was built on 02/26 and shipped 02/28. Original build date was week of 02/07 changed to week of 02/21. Dealer called to let me know of the build week change, built and shipped before I got each email from Ford (email came same day as called but salesman was on top of it). Sorry for those of you having problems with dealer or salesman. FYI: I'll be selling the Mav when it arrives, going to buy a Hybrid Escape from same dealer after I sell it. (don't really need the pick up but what extra I get over what I pay for it (sold to me at invoice, few dollars under sticker) will let me buy the Escape.))

I think it's been proven week after week in the scheduling threads on this forum that constraints are not the delay. Allocations are the primary issue.
It's both.
I've been whacked by both of these issues -- constraints and allocations.

Early in my Maverick learning curve I had the spray-in bedliner option. I didn't know it was constrained. My dealer had allocations, but used them to fill slightly later orders without SIBL. So, my primary problem was constraints.

I dropped the bedliner and Ford was building Mavericks just like mine and shipping them out. But my dealer had no allocations and my order stayed unfilled. So, my primary problem was allocations.

It's more complicated than that, of course. Ford makes its own decisions about how to use constrained commodities. And as for allocations, well... the Ford works in mysterious ways.

But for each customer the "primary issue" is the one that's biting them at the moment.

Then get the Ridgeline. It's a good vehicle, too.

For me, too expensive, poor gas mileage, and an engine that still uses a rubber timing belt.

But, overall, still a good truck. Go for it.

We all have choices. Nobody is locked in.
I would not buy a new vehicle today that still uses a belt. It's prob a 1200 bill to change. And has to be done 60 to 100k miles depends on what the manual says. And if it snaps goodbye engine.

I actually heard through a friend who knows a guy a few blocks over who knows a guy who once rented a pickup that Ford actually has built every Maverick ordered and is just waiting for there to be a single 48 hour period on MTC where nobody complains or insinuates that production isn't up to their liking. Once that happens, we all get our Mavs.

Until then, it's a trickle of Mavs getting to the owners.

And that guy is surely in the know. He had a babysitter who voted for Gerald Ford.

Great choice on the Escape. I have a 2018 and a 2021 Titanium Hybrid. Both great SUVs.

I ordered my XL on Dec 15, 2021. Also an ECO boost. As of this week, Ford Customer service says the status is still in "order processing". Seems like some kind of ordering Purgatory I had never heard of before.

The couple times I called for an update I found Ford marketing folks to be helpful as far as they can. They did inform me each time the information they gave me beyond what was showing in the system may not be 100% accurate or official- only what they knew/assumed to be the case at that time of our conversation. So take with a grain of salt...
I must say I agree with you on them being helpful when I called as well. I also have determined that they are the best at giving terrible news. I mean I honestly end the call with hope and get my soul crushed next scheduling day.
