Hardware used:
- Boss 4 gauge amp kit (Ieaving that in place if I ever need to upgrade my sub
)
- Sound Laboratory LoPro 8' Subwoofer
- 3M tape
- Zip ties
- Wire taps
- Micro 3 Add-a-fuse
This is how the sub is mounted for the moment. After testing it and make sure everything works, I'll make a permanent mount for it that doesn't take the scissor jack. (Spoiler: It works!)
This is where I tap the wire for the speaker level input, which is the radio harness behind the HVAC control panel. I could've tap into the rear speakers, but I'm afraid of audio interference.
For the remote turn on wire, I used fuse #1 under the passenger footwell, which only gets power if the key is set to the "On" position. Fuse #3 or #6 should work as well, except it's micro 2.
This is where I mount my sub control knob. I used 3M double sided tape so I could move it easily if I wanted to.
For under $200, it pretty much filled the bass that's lacking in the Maverick's audio system, and I'm very pleased with how it performs.
