Jacob, Good job rubbing the hybrid mileage in. I am anxiously waiting on a XLT Hybrid to replace my 22 EB XL. Not that I can complain about the EB mileage but I am sure the hybrid will better it.

Hybrids do better in town, not so much on the highway.

My 23 has the eb, awd, and 4k tow. at 65mph on i35 I can get 35 to 42mpg. at 70 I get 35-38mpg, at 75 I get 35. at 55 I get 45+.
No one is getting sustained 40mpg with an EB Maverick for any condition, other than down hill.....🙄

Stop using Eco mode on the highway. It makes my Eco feel like it needs a tune up and has never done a thing fir my mpg’s.
Check your tire pressure and use cruise control. My Eco does 31 on the interstate at 75-80 mph. 26-28 on my hilly, curvy Appalachian mountain roads.
All city I do 23-24.
Learn to coast more?
Remember, every time you use the brakes you are burning gas !
Why? Because you have to re-accelerate to get your speed back. Don’t tailgate.

5,000 miles, get full synthetic oil in there.
And use the recommended weight.

Most drivers can’t get good mpg’s without cruise control.

Try 75 mph, that should move you up the tach a bit and maybe that rpm will be more efficient.

FYI MPG ratings are based on much lower speed- the difference between 75 and 65mph in my Civic on cruise control was 35 vs 41mpg, and that's a much more aerodynamic vehicle.

I know you’re driving under real road and traffic conditions but my best mpg’s happen at different rpm’s due to the way my small turbo performs.
Again at 65 my Ecoboost rpm’s are too low, the turbo is barely spinning and or producing little to no boost.
If in 8th gear at 65 mph I’m showing something like 1500 or 1600 rpm’s.
My turbo kicks in at I think 1800 rpm’s and a respectable boost level is achieved at 2,000 rpm.
In this a turbo engine gives better mpg’s.
All my testing on my hilly Appalachian mountain roads and my open four lanes I get better mpg’s at speeds that keep my turbo in play.
Aerodynamic’s aside my boxy flat nosed truck gives better mpg’s if I’m a bit into the power band.
Where a non turbo normally aspirated engine gives better mpg in most cases when the engine is at a low as possible rpm.

I get better mpg’s at real highway speeds like 75 with my tach closer to 2,000.

I just did a long drive. Pittsburgh to Wilmington NC and back. I have a 2024 Hybrid. 65-75 MPH. Calculator indicated 38 MPG more or less. When I did the math at fill up it consistently was 35 MPG. So the Fuel calculator was approx 10% high and wrong. I'm surprised. Also Auto pilot was not terrible. Disconnected now and then and wandered. There had to be very clear lines on road to work properly.

Not true. I have often gotten over 40mpg on I 35 sometimes driving from Waco north to the city of West, 20 miles and weekly from Waco to Belton 40 miles south. Unless you believe my mileage computer is broken.

Well, something is broken.
🤓
You are not talking about what everyone else is talking about.
You are showing your instantaneous "in that moment" MPG. Not your total MPG.

Also I infer you got up to speed, on a warm engine, set cruise control, re-zeroed the computer, and were trying to get a steady reading. That's good. I can understand why you'd want to do that.

If I did the same in my hybrid it would/could get 65 MPG in similar conditions.

Based on the limited information you provided, I'd say your truck is getting about 22 MPG overall. Ask me how I know and I'll tell you.

This is my typical trip summary.
Includes starting from a dead stop,
Accelerating to 60 MPH for about 30 miles. Then coming into town with lots of starts and stops. Then coming to a full final stop and turning the key off. Can repeat it every day.

I never thought to reset a trip meter once at 60 MPH. Maybe I will just for fun.

I bought a fwd 2.0 eco back in November while still waiting on my hybrid order. I had read many forms from others that have the same base xlt that were getting mid 30s going 75-80 mpg on the highway. I’ve got 5000 miles on mine now and am very disappointed in it. I’m only averaging 28 and that’s on a good day. If there is even the slightest wind it’s down to around 22. My commute is 100 miles total and all highway. I keep my cruise set at 72 and in eco mode and haven’t seen anywhere close to 30s. Has anyone else noticed this or have any suggestions on how to improve this. If I can’t get the mpgs up I’ll be looking for a new vehicle unfortunately. Thanks
Its a truck, with the typical aerodynamics of a brick. The Cd is 0.65. At 75 you are pushing so much air that you're probably getting only about 60% the mileage that you would at 55. Assuming that you don't have a misfire, a plugged fuel injector from bad fuel, or a fuel pressure problem with the high-pressure pump sensor, there are also some more minor effects, like having a load in the bed, using inefficient offroad tires, having the wrong tire pressures, pushing snow or water, crummy fuel, fuel with lots of ethanol in it, wrong oil, having the 4k tow package gearing, or just plain driving really poorly. There are so many variables that its impossible to guess your particular issue.

15 & 30 mile samples are meaningless, but fun to talk about, as you have discovered. I could show you a similar sample where I can get 99 mpg. Sustainable FE is measured over the course of a full tank of fuel, for your typical conditions. So, let's see your 500 mile average?

Aaahhhhh I will never get that because I cannot accelerate to 60 mph and take 30 miles to get there! 🤗

Kind of hard to do when 80% of my driving is stop and go in town driving. If I made a 500 mile trip on the highway I am sure I would get 40+ mpg over the whole trip. It just shows good mileage is possible if you drive conservatively.

lol... you can be sure, but reality will prove you wrong. There's a reason no one has ever done that....😉
