I've never even owned a computer and don't have children. CD players may not be for everyone but they sure are nice to have when all these playlists through Spotify or Iheart or whatever play the same damn songs over and over and over again 😑 fortunately I have an old Technics rack system at home and still am able to listen to records, cassettes and cds 😎

In every freakin' topic about CD players someone always has to pipe up and say not to use CDs. The question isn't about how to listen to music; it's about how to listen to CDs.
That is a lot of topics on this forum. Instead of answering the persons question people have to pipe in with an unsolicited opinion.

Get one of your grandchildren to put them on a USB drive and you can plug that in to the USB slot and listen to all your CDs that way
And of course I need to change the labeling or some sort of data for the Maverick to read my folders as I had them arranged to work on my Silverado. Or I could pop in the CD I want to hear. BTW I have vinyl over 50 years old that I still play and I also have vinyl less than 3 years old. I personally find the fact USBs can hold hundreds of CDs to be the problem. I don;t want to go through menus to listen to the 1 I want to hear. Love the factory CD player in my 2005 Mustang.

I hate my POS radio/ sound system in my 2024 XLT. Car Play sucks with loosing stations all the time. I spend more time looking at the infotainment than the road while I'm driving becuase it dosn't work.

I do have a YouTube music subscription, how can I listen to that instead of Car Play. I'm no teckie. Just to old I guess.

That is why I bought a Lariat. As soon as they told me the xlt did not have Sirius I said "next!"

My 2025 XLT came with Sirius and I Love It the regular local FM stations play 15 minutes of music and then 15 minutes of commercials!!

Then send me the extra $12-15K for the Lariat? They also don't explain what any of the info systems work.
67, worked full time from age 14 (yes 40 hours a week) to 65, splurged on my FIRST vehicle with a higher trim level than stx ever. You made a choice based on dollars not on features. You decided lower cost was more important to you than the sound system and infotainment system. I chose features I wanted, some included I didn't care 1 way or the other, over saving a few bucks. By the way it wasn't 15k more than an xlt.

Who is "they"?

I feel your frustration.
I miss having a CD player. I got rid of my PC and laptop when it started saying that Vista was outdated and the system would not work.
I have no PC or Laptop to rip CDs on to a flash drive. 100% phone based.

The above is everything I have to convert CD's

I won't use any imaging statements like 'CD scattered all over the truck.'
You can do it with that phone if you have an external usb dvd/cd drive. Only thing you need to make it work is an OTG cable which will allow your phone to be a usb host. On Android systems for example you can get an app called redbook which plays, rips and converts your cds to digital audio files.

For youtube, I don't pay squat and use a player called newpipe which integrates into android auto.

As long as the ford audio player supports it make your own audio playlist .m3u files from the files on the usb stick and you can just click the file named after the cd and not deal with skips and repeats with scratched cds.
