I added a bed mat and tailgate liner that is working just fine for me. I like to use but not abuse mine.
Can I ask you what you used for a bed mat and tailgate liner ? I have seen different bed mats but the tailgate liners seem elusive.

While that is no doubt a paint defect it appears to be in the bed of the truck. If that was my truck that would be scuffed off by cargo in short order or covered with a spray in bed liner. I am using mine as a truck as intended. Bed scuffs and scratches happen when used as intended.
To each his own.

Nothing here! Took my truck the day before I signed for it to a local self serve booth carwash so I could hand wash it, dry it and clay bar it before the detailer would finish it and add a bottle of Glasscoat on it. While I did this, I checked the paint and I was actually rather impressed with how good the paint was, how even it was done and how smooth it was while I was claying it. Not much of anything was on the paint at all.

And before anyone asks, I worked there, for a LONG TIME, so they let me take it, knowing what I was gonna do. I also did this to help my old coworker (the detailer, a true OG detail pro, not some lot guy who doesn't know what they're doing) get most of it done and all he had to do was wash and apply the Simoniz Glasscoat. And that stuff is leftover product, when the dealership sold it many years ago (while I worked there). The few bottles he has left, puts it on employees vehicles when they buy one. Makes cleaning the car effortless. Most will think it's junk, but it actually works. But overall, the paint is actually really good. I was pleasantly surprised, considering I've seen some crappy Ford paint working there for 23 years.

Just curious...for those of you who opted to not get the SIB or the DIB, do you care if you bed gets scratched up? I'm not sure I could leave my truck bed all naked like that...
6 trucks over the years and never had a bed liner of any kind. The tailgates showed the most wear with some bed floor scratches and scrapes. Only a few scratches on the bed sides that could have been corrected easily if I'd cared to. Hauled all sorts of stuff but no abrasives like rocks or dirt.

My Tremor is a spoiled little baby with a removable Maverick bed mat and the Ford tailgate protector. Should something nasty happen I can always get it sprayed with a nice fresh bed liner.

Thanks for everyone's response. Asking because my neighbor bought himself a really nice (used) F150 extended cab a few years ago for his business, and he put in a bedliner at time of purchase because the bed was scratched to hell from the previous owner, and he just couldn't stand the way it looked compared to how beautiful the rest of the truck looked.

I got mine LineX'd the week after I got the truck. Much more durable.

I personally like the look of the paint, just looks better than dull sandpaper in my opinion. The truck will no doubt get scratched up and when that time comes I'll get the cover up, why rush the process..

Not worried. My last truck bed was well scratched after 20 years, but still 100% functional.

Same here. The SIBL is the first option I picked. I know it's supposed to be used and abused but I prefer to use protection ;).
