I've had my Maverick since November 22. Just noticed this spot yesterday day. It caught my eye while walking past the truck. Is it a rust bubble?? Paint imperfection?? A glob of seam sealer from the inside edge of the bed? It feels firm, it's not soft to the touch.

Had something like that on my 2020 jeep gladiator. That problem is with how they painted on aluminum. Jeep is going to repaint it and I don't think it will affect resale. I don't think the bed is aluminum on Maverick

Yeah, no.
If you go to trade it in, the used car manager will run his hands all over the sheet metal looking for orange peel and mismatched paint.
Repainted cars are worth less.
Carfax has nothing to do with it.
I disagree , one of my brand new cars had paint work done before I picked it up. And it never showed up on the carfax. Also a 1 inch spot is going to be hard to find from the used car manager. Also light wet sand and buff will take care of orange peel. There not going to repaint the whole truck for this.

Mr. Cynical says it's Ford's Six Sigma program at work.

Bet the dealer held your truck a week for 'prep' before you picked it up, too. Pretty big miss all the way around.

15 years in the car business. What do I know.

LOL. I have traded in at least a dozen cars in my life (usally 2/3 years old) and Never had a used car manager touch the paint . A quick walk around and zip around the in the car that is about it. Not sure where you trade.

They buy cars sight unseen.
Which is probably not the smartest business model.

They do ask if your vehicle has had paint work though.

Carvana has bought two of my used vehicles and they never rubbed anything.

No they don't. They give you an offer contingent upon inspection when you bring it in or they come get it, just like every other similar service. But you have been in the car business for 15 years, so what do you know...

Many, many years ago I sold new vehicles and it was not uncommon for some to need paint work when they arrived. Things may have changed but I doubt a warranty paint job will decrease value. If they don't make it unnoticeable, make them do it again. I suspect even on a Bently you'll occasionally find a paint flaw that the dealer corrects. jeez

Take a few good photos with a ruler in one of them to document damage then have factory fix under warranty while you still can. Hey ,it's not a Ferrari they are going to go over with paint depth gauges plus that spot will bug you and may eventually rupture.

Haven't you ever looked at or taken apart a kitchen top appliance, where they have arrows pointing to where the screws go? Well, that is just a hand symbol showing the factory worker where the lens goes.
