LOL. I have traded in at least a dozen cars in my life (usally 2/3 years old) and Never had a used car manager touch the paint . A quick walk around and zip around the in the car that is about it. Not sure where you trade.Yeah, no.
If you go to trade it in, the used car manager will run his hands all over the sheet metal looking for orange peel and mismatched paint.
Repainted cars are worth less.
Carfax has nothing to do with it.
I've had my Maverick since November 22. Just noticed this spot yesterday day. It caught my eye while walking past the truck. Is it a rust bubble?? Paint imperfection?? A glob of seam sealer from the inside edge of the bed? It feels firm, it's not soft to the touch.![]()
Hard to imagine that it took over 3 months to notice that. Sure it isn't rust that just popped up??I've had my Maverick since November 22. Just noticed this spot yesterday day. We all know that used car managers are consummate professionals and would never try to pull shady tactics for their own benefit. "Looks like a quite a few paint imperfections that I'm going to have to get fixed to sell this thing." Immediately puts in out on the lemon lot for $5k more than he gave you for it.LOL. Sorry to disagree with you but warranty paint fix does not devalue a car. If they do that there just screwing youYeah, no.

I concurThis is incorrect, a paint warranty fix does not devalue the vehicle in the slightest. My own personal example is the last vehicle I owed, 2019 Edge ST I bought new. The rear bumper had paint defects where it met the rear quarter fenders. It basically looked like paint was rubbed off at the factory when it was assembled. This was submitted to ford, and repainted by the dealer. To my knowledge this does not show on a carfax, and even if it was it would show as a warranty issue. Much different than a "crash" repair and repaint.
Carvana has bought two of my used vehicles and they never rubbed anything.Yeah, no.
