Is that what pin 7 is for, signal return?
Signal return its for the padle shifters it self. Reference ground low current. I dont belive its for the cluster to know what gear the truck its in .

Can this be done without the steering control module for heated wheel/lane departure? I don’t care for that stuff but I want paddle shift. Sorry if this has been asked didn’t have time to read through every comment lol

VTec87pr1 ——I wanted to congratulate and commend your efforts ! I also have a 2022 XL Maverick- I also own a 2017 Lincoln MKZ 3.0. Eco boost, twin turbo. (400hp-stock) - as you would expect, it has paddle shifters that I love to use at times to 1/4 mile the car in a straight line but more so for downshifting when traffic slows down in front of me without having to hit my brakes and coming down mountain terrains that I drive every day-the programming won’t let me downshift into too low of a gear and over rev the engine that car has a six speed transmission - Question : After installing the paddle shift conversion on the Maverick do you get all 8 speeds Fully manual up or down ? In other words, if I start off in first and upshift to second, will it stay there or will the computer automatically shift it to third if I start over revving it? I’m wondering what the shift logic is in the new module and how it behaves ?—whatever it is I’m sure it is much much better than the stock configuration. - As of now if you’re coming down a mountain in the Mavericks and hit the L button for engine braking that thing revs up to 5000 RPM sometimes! Lol ! Thanks again for your contributions to this forum 👏🙏🏼👍🏼
Sincerely “Calmate”

2022 XL -Area51 - Upfitted cruise control / tailgate power lock / Bronco sport 18”wheels-Dimming mirror homelink n compass / S&B intake & Panda module (It scoots !!!) 😂

That oval plugged hole in the firewall with 2 studs going to nothing on either side looks like that may be for a clutch pedal setup that ford decided not to do.

Absolute amazing post! I have the hybrid, so paddles are not feasible. However, I do have them on my Hyundai Palisade and they are a must have if you do a lot of hill traveling. Great for mountain driving. I must thank you for the time and effort you put into not only doing the modification, but posting the many pictures and narrative of your project so that others could do the same. Folks such as yourself who make this club so incredibly helpful.
