Just back from a Firestone shop. I've had a slow leak, takes about 3 days to go from 38 psi to 20. I did pull a tiny pin the other day. Didn't remember where it stuck in.

I have the Michelin 225/60 R18 Primacy. They want $380 for ONE tire! They did find the leak, it is on the sidewall.

So online shopping I go. I just can't accept $380 for one tire.

Oh, I only have 5,403 miles on my '24 Lariat BAP, who's 1 year birthday is in 4 weeks!
I had to replace one of the tires on my '25 XLT Hybrid already (with < 800 miles on the ODO). Picked up a screw in an in-development neighborhood, and my TPMS told me about it a couple days later.

road hazard is included free with tires bought from tirerack.com. I never buy it separate and I've never had cause to use such a guarantee. they're all prorated anyway, so if you go 40k miles then get a hazard, you don't get much payout.
Tire track is owned by discount tire now as well, that's a get deal , included. Not always prorated either. I Have had 2 times, one puncture in the sidewall, 2nd. Dryrotted sidewalls( because of age of tire) ,and they replaced a total of 3 tires for free ,had over 20,000 miles on them. Certificates are different now a days , not always prorated . Love them

I have had discount certificates replace a sidewall damage tire free AND the other 3 prorated and replaced so I would have a matched set on the ground.

Would one of those dyi plug kits work on the side wall, or would the pressure push it out?

I checked my local Ford dealer since I have the same tires as you. They have the Michelins for 239. And they have a Uniroyal with a 75k tread warranty for 152.
Also the Ford dealer should have the OEM version. So you won't mix after market version with the OEM's which according to Michelin is NOT recommended.

Have one ordered with installation appointment Friday from America's Tire store. $199, with install & tax OTD for $239. Little military discount there.
Sounds like a much better deal. The tire alone is $225 at best.

Not advisable, and most of the kits surely say not to do that. I don't think there is enough "meat" on the sidewall to hold a plug in.

A tiny pin in the sidewall begs the question of how it got there...
That's a real shame. I always wonder about how much difference in circumference you can have between tires before it begins to manifest problems like wear in the differential spiders. If you have 2 each of different tires, you can at least rotate them to the same axle together.
This article explains it. Same principle applies to FWD. The two front tires need to be matched.

Skimming this article reminded me of my niece's Nissan rouge, the had a tire replaced, and company put a different size tire on it, within 6 months she had to have transmission replaced( under warranty, thank God) for the difference in tire size sent mixed signals to the AWD computers and put more pressure on the system and wore the Trans really quick. So same size ,right sized matched tires are very important these days, because of the idiosyncricies of transmissions nowadays.
