Hi All,
thanks for all the replies.

I am in San Jose and it would be my first time buying an american car and a truck. I was considering honda ridgeline before but the price is too high (almost 40k). Small crewcap pickup truck with hybrid is no brainer.

Anyhow, back to the dealer topic:

As on the forum, there's a thread about purchasing out of state and find a dealer willing to do a courtesy drop off (CD). They are offering 4% below invoice which is a really good price. not sure if it's too good to be true or not.

2nd option is to find a dealer without mark up. I am still trying to decide which trim to buy so I haven't make a reservation yet. Really want the proximity and push to start but it's 5k more than XL! ahh

CYPRESS COAST never reached out to me. I did drop in and wasnot happy with the attitude of one of the guys when I was asking about maverick, so walked away
I haven't went into any of the dealer - pre-ordered over the phone with Salinas Valley. Salinas Valley got back to me one day after I submitted the reservation on Ford's website, such a different experience compared to Cypress Coast.

No I worked with Austin, they didn't say anything about mark up but it sounded like there wouldn't be any. If there is, I'll just cancel my purchase.
Unfortunately they would be happy if you cancelled your order because they can immediately turn around and sell it there's a high demand for these and they can probably mark it up even higher than they would to you.

My dealer had me sign the order which was just straight up msrp and did not have any taxes or fees, which is fine with me I'm going to surprise them with my X plan pricing which I will be applying to the order as soon as the vin is created.

Putnam Ford in Burlingame is taking preorders for the Maverick with no deposit, no MSRP markup and are willing to negotiate. All you need is your drivers license as a deposit. Putnam Ford recently opened, but I never had trouble with their other dealerships. I just placed my order with Juan so maybe reach out to him too.

I ordered mine through Future Ford in Roseville. $500 refundable deposit. I saw no mark-up on the invoice they sent over.

You may want to double check. The first dealer I ordered with sent me the itemized pre-order form which showed no mark-up. I then asked them about it and they told me they were going to mark it up $2k.

Confirmed, no mark-up. Thanks for the encouragement to check though.

Elk Grove emailed me after I submitted my reservation, and they wanted $2k dealer markup and $1k deposit. Called around and Future Ford also said the same thing. Harrold Ford offered MSRP and refundable $100 deposit. Easy decision.

I ordered on 8/10 from The Ford Store Morgan Hill. They're doing $200 over invoice. I got that in writing. Super easy to deal with, no deposit and no haggling at all... did it all over email.

I got the scheduled for production email on 8/12, yay! I couldn't believe how lucky I got.

I ordered from Serramonte, scheduled for 9/13. No mark-ups and should accept X plan (sales said it is not yet confirmed).

Fremont Ford is same MSRP and should accept X plan.
