Ordering confusion / shenanigans

When the order banks opened 9/22 the system was broken so you could not order an XL with Atlas Blue so I ordered Iconic silver just to get it in planning on changing it after.

A few days later they fixed it so I had the dealer change it to blue. I got a new order number but I figured that was normal and the original order got cancelled so I have been checking status on the new order#.

FF to this morning I get a scheduled for 7/31/23 email but it is for the original order# and Iconic Silver!!!

I'm not complaining as I was resigned to finding an EB on a lot this fall when my Unicorn didn't get built.

I let my dealer know that I would take the silver if the blue doesn't get built. I hope this doesn't come back to bite me in the a$$.

I'm thinking they used this as an opportunity to get an extra order in for stock using my drivers license/COVP.

The color is the only thing you can change now that it is scheduled. There are posts on this forum about this. Good luck!

Theoretically you can change more than the color as long as it doesn't affect the body code (so no powertrain/Tremor changes). Although it is an XL so not much to change.

I think you are right thinking the dealer outright lied to you about needing a new order for a color change.

I ordered an Atlas Blue Lariat on September 16 and there were no restrictions that I saw on that color on any build. I think your dealer was screwed up.

I believe it was just blue on XL problem. Your Lariat would not have had that issue.
