Long story short:

Ordered 10/21/2021.

Moved out of state from original address provided to the dealer.

Dealer is now saying they can't use price protection certificate because it must be registered to me at my original address.

Is this BS?

No, just means there's more paperwork for the dealer to prove you're the same person at a new address.

I think while he's accurate that they have to match in order to be valid, it can all be updated if your Dealer calls their Sales and Inventory Specialist at Ford to get the offer certificate number updated. Will be some time and paperwork for them. Not sure what all information you will have to provide to confirm it's real, etc.... I would think at least updated drivers license.

It all should be easier than this … But it isn’t.

Be persistent — all the system anomalies can be overcome, but it takes getting through to the right person who can make it happen in the system.

Yep! They are looking for an out to not honor the price protection. They can sell it to you for any price they want. Yet another slimy dealership.

Do you have a friend/family/stranger with an aptitude to dummy up a Dewey, Suuem and Howe Law Firm, who's an attorney? A simple letter to say they have to prove you ain't you or they will be sued will cure a lot of dealer stupid.

wow
I wish you would have posted a question before talking to the dealer I had the same issue, however gave my dealer the same shenanigans. I ordered my truck 07/09/2021 received it on 10/01/2022 then retired on 06/24/2022 so I knew I was moving out of state. I didn’t want to lose my price protection or any other benefits I might lose. I’ve been in customer service for over 30 years so I trust no salespeople. So what I did was had my mail forwarded to my new address for 18 months kept same address so all paperwork from the dealer was forwarded to the new address kept same address on my DL had all paperwork completed online and yes I had to send a picture of DL with latest bill with current address that’s why I didn’t change my address yet. After approval told dealership my son was picking up the truck which they were ok with he drove from California to Georgia. When truck arrived I had everything transferred to my new address where I live. Shenanigans always happens.

It doesn't have to be the original one but your present one must match everything else. The dealer has to do his homework.
