Ordered without ever driving one or even sitting in it. What a weird time we live in.

I was looking for a truck and friend mentioned the new Maverick. I was just beginning research when I was informed they were going to stop taking orders. Feeling panicked I ordered that day. I am having some buyers regret or maybe worry is a better word... as I've never driven or even sat in one. I am worried it will be too small. My car salesman is no help. I feel like he would really care less if I went thru the purchase or not. Heck, if I back out he already informed me they would sell it for $5K over MSRP so he probably wants me to back out. I am looking every day to see if I even see one. They are hard to spot "in the wild" as others have said. I will keep looking and keep reading and watching all the reviews I can. Some day I will get a call I guess and then maybe I can drive it before I sign on the dotted like and hand them $36K. I do know my 6'5 son will automatically get a front seat position when we go out in it. Lariot/Lux/AWD/Red Pepper. I am super excited for the color.
My salesman called me when they got the first batch in. They were sold, so I 'couldn't drive them, but I could sit in one and take measurements (bed and such) if I wanted.

Same here, I was worried about the size as well.
It's definitely bigger that I expected. Interior space is actually roomier than quite a few vehicles.Ive owned in the past.

We ordered ours at the last chance, in January — We have never even SEEN a Maverick, let alone sit in one. We keep an eye out to see one on the road here in eastern Pennsylvania…. But have not laid eyes on one yet.

We have watched a lot of Maverick reviews and feedback on YouTube, though … And, of course, are reading this forum. So feel we have a pretty good feel for what the truck is all about, and that there won’t be any (many) surprises when (if) we get it. (Maybe by the end of the year? We ordered a bare-bones Ecoboost XLT, with only hitch receiver added.

I was in the same boat as you are. I ordered without driving one and never saw one in the wild.
When my truck came in, the sales rep instructed me to test drive it before going in inside to get the paperwork done to make sure I like it and don't have regrets. I fell in love it with.
I picked up on Thursday. ordered 7/6

I had the chance to sit in one,the way l look at it even if I hate it I can sell it for a profit with what people are paying on open market.

I'm flying out to buy my Maverick sight unseen just outside Las Vegas.

I'm pretty sure I'll like it and even if I don't I can just turn around and flip it or trade it in without losing much. Might even make a profit doing it.

It's definitely a new age of auto purchasing I'm going in semi blind as I've sat in one but that's all. Buying mainly for the promised high MPG🤞

I have seen and sat in a Maverick, even the back seat. I have a 2012 Chevy Colorado and I can tell you that , other than the bed, it does not seem smaller. I was parked next to one and the difference was maybe a few inches. And it doesn’t have that “aluminum can” look many of the old small pickups had. That being said, if Ford sold a Ranger hybrid for $23,000 I would have purchased one by now.

In 1995, I bought a new Ducati 900SS SP over the phone, in another state, without having ever seen one in person...

And, many years later, I bought this new 2009 Subaru Forester after hours of research and only seeing them on the road; no test drive or dealer visit...

They both ended up being big favorites of mine and I still have them both!
What is that structure above your car?

Simple just take delivery of your truck and Jack up the price say 5K and smile all the way to the Bank, That's the beauty of living where Capitalism rains Supreme 😉

Yup, welcome to the club.
I paid to go to the Dallas car show last weekend just so I can finally see one and sit in it. It was a XL that was available to sit in, I wasn't impressed, it's really basic everything. There's an XLT on display but u can't sit in it, looks a bit better. I'm confident the Lariat lux package that I ordered should be nicer, since I tend to keep my car awhile.
I wound up with a lariat lux first edition hybrid = it is super NICE! plus bought 9.6 gallons 87 octane about 110 miles ago range says 386 miles to E now being helped by being in econo drive 36.6 miles 220 ft drop in altitude showing 50.1 mpg. Total mileage showing 38.6 mpg most in standard drive mode and "lead-footed" wife driving 🤩!

Most of us have done what you are doing, including myself. Ordered sight unseen. I did finally get to do a test drive in a AWD XL that my dealer received as a stock unit several months ago, and I liked it well enough. Feels bigger inside than it's footprint might suggest. I'm 6'4" 180 with long legs, and found a driving position that was perfectly comfortable. Was even able to sit behind myself, tho I did have to spread my legs around the seat back. I'm coming from an F150, so yes, it is noticeably smaller as you would expect, but certainly not uncomfortable. I found it to be MORE roomy than the midsize trucks I looked at. So, I'm still waiting for a build date.

At any rate OP, you're under no obligation to actually buy it when it comes in, so don't sweat it if you don't like it.....you're dealer will actually be glad if you walk. But I'm betting you'll find it to be a perfect fit. :)

same here, never sit in one before till sit in MINE. I am 6'1, have to rely on those reviewer to tell me if it fit. and it fits all right. got to say a little disappointed about the interiro when sitting for the 1st time in my XL, came from my junky VW atlas we traded in. The atlas got way better interior than maverick. Regardless, the more we drive it, the more we love it, and once used to the interior, it is not so bad after all. And the mpg is certainly a huge bonus.
