If the prices of used Maverick's holds up through the fall when the order banks for MY2023 opens up I plan to order a MY2023 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid from the same dealership I originally got my 2022 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid from.
My current 05/06/22 Carvana offer of $32,974 on my 2022 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid w/CP360, Drop-in Bedliner, Sliding Rear Window driven 1286 miles in excellent condition which is $6,906 over my total purchase price of $26,068. MSRP of my Maverick is $24,620. I paid Invoice price of $24,174.
Even though the cost of the MY2023 Maverick will be somewhat higher (at least $290 higher) the $6,906 profit used against the MY2023 Maverick purchase price will result in me having a brand new Maverick with all the TSB's and other software updates done (and any other fixes) and my order will have the trailer hitch that I forgot to add to my original 2022 Maverick.
I believe that the parts shortages will last throughout 2022 and into 2023. Jim Farley also thinks parts shortages will last into 2023.
I will again take a look at the market for selling my 2022 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid in the fall just before the order banks open to evaluate this scenario.
