Hello all , my first post and very happy to be here . I have been skulking around a bit and reading
a lot of posts , I have a 3/31 build date for my 2025 Lariat AWD hybrid , space white , BAP , tow pack , sun roof , slider , console vault and some other goodies . After lots of reading I'm beginning to wonder if I should have gone with the ecoboost and the 8 spd .

After lots of reading it seems the abundant mileage I was hoping to get is going to be a pipe dream , I
like the thought of trying something new "hybrid technology" but I'm leaving power on the table vs ecoboost
and I may only achieve 5-6 more miles per gallon with hybrid .

Currently I'm commuting to work 110 MI round trip in a 2023 F450 Lariat diesel dually (keeping) so no matter which maverick I get it will be a mileage improvement over the 17 I'm getting now . Can any
25' hybrid owners give me some feedback or advice whether I should keep this hybrid coming or maybe
opt for the ecoboost , I'm trying not to make the wrong decision . It seems from reading some of you really like your hybrid's and some do not any input much appreciated !
My thoughts are, get the hybrid, yes you will only gain a a few more miles with the hybrid on your daily trip, but your local driving will make you smile. Get an extended warranty from Granger Ford, and keep the Maverick for 10 years. You have the dually for the heavy work.

So, is it still a "pipe dream" that only gets 5-6 more MPG than the EcoBoost? 😄

It used less than 1 gallon of gas for that trip, vs nearly 3 gallons of diesel for your F450. Saved maybe $8 on one commute, = $80 a week, $320 a month

50.5 miles in 1.783 hours = 28.3 mph average. So your average mph is lower than what you were expecting in your original post.

That is good news.

The faster your average speed, the lower the hybrid mpg drops.

Sounds like you have a route that fits right in a sweet spot for the hybrid. Those are good numbers. I've been tracking with the Fuelly app, my tank MPG is still with all high speed expressway travel.

It will be your loss, and you need to watch videos of people getting up to 46 mpg with your exact drive train.

If you're keeping the 450 Lariat, why would you need anything but the hybrid?

You will love the hybrid. Also it’s not lacking power. It will do 0-60 in 7 seconds and it feels faster than that because it’s instant power. As for mpg. I’m averaging 30mpg but it has been very cold and I only have 400 miles on it.
As of January 01 25 to mid May, so very cold weather to spring weather my hybrid is averaging 45.4 mpg and I have been running mostly in Normal mode. Around town here it is running just under 57 mpg.

That’s hard to believe. I filled up yesterday and my last tank average was 37.3mpg.

I don’t, my initial pause was buying a hybrid to begin with. I never had one before and was concerned about longevity and such but I’m feeling better about it now , seems to be a great vehicle so far .

Granted, I’ve had my truck for almost 3 weeks, but I am averaging 49 miles to the gallon, I have had highs of 67 and a low of 42 . This is by math , not the truck. I could not be happier.
