Order from multiple dealers?

I ordered a hybrid Lariat about a month ago and I understand I am probably looking at spring at the earliest for the vehicle. I read a few comments from people placing an order at multiple dealers because of dealer allocations. I am not very happy with the dealer I am currently working with since I never got an order confirmation email from Ford, just a "don't worry its all set" from the sales guy. So I was thinking about placing an order with another dealer and was wondering what people think about placing an order at multiple dealers?

I think you should get your signed DORA from the dealer at a minimum. If they won’t supply that along with a commitment on the price, I’ld run like hell and find a dealer that will. Just my opinion.
