Hello, like many in here, I have been doing a lot of stuff to my 2.0 Mav, and even though the amount of reliable technical data here has been quite a bit of hit and miss. I figure I'll give it a try anyway.
Not only is this is my first FORD in more than three decades, but the engine bay of my '89 LX fox body was not cluttered with vacuum hoses and quick-connect as this little truck is!
Most quick connections are easy to figure out! … and yes, I have the tools for fuel rails and filters, but his one has puzzled me. There a no tabs, you can't squeeze it, and the quick connect removal tool does not fit under it! It almost looks like a throwaway similar to the ones found in most heater hoses, where you replace the insert after breaking it. Perhaps there is a special tool to squeeze the two tabs at the same time?
Question: Has anyone removed this orange quick connect without breaking it?
