I ordered my Hot Pepper Red XLT, 2.0 L, 4K tow, FX4, XLT Lux this morning from Owatonna Ford.
Order # 1 for November. I watched the new car manager enter it in the system.
Let's see how long the actual process takes from start to finish.

Hello, I ordered a similar config- prob get late Dec. I’m curious about a few things:

1) are the tires ok for MN?
2) engine noise? I’ve heard it sounds like to 2 cylinder engine 😂
3) driving visibility- is the rear view mirror a problem? Visors block your view?

thanks
1) I'll tell ya once the snow hits!
2) You actually don't hear much of the engine in the Lariat. The most I hear is the turbo when it's accelerating at a lower RPM. Haven't driven it hard at all during the break in period but overall it's a quiet engine.
3) Visibility is great all around. Not quite Subaru level but close. The past couple of cars I've had have had lots of 'tech' in the review mirror area so I'm use to it being lower. And the visors can pushed right up to the windshield to it doesn't block much view.

I've been lurking but am new to the forum.

I just picked up my Ecoboost, Lariat Lux, 360, 4k on 10/14. Got it at Autonation WBL and they said it was the first one. It's amazing and totally worth the wait!

They didn't try to pull any fast ones on price, did they? I am seeing other people talk about dealers adding markup and don't want to have the rug pulled out from under me. Did they just charge MRSP?

Actually all through it.
Ha. I'd watched it when it came out and didn't notice.

They could have at least made a trip down Ford Pkwy in Highland.

Doubt it will take too long unless your order has a bunch of random accessories added into it. If you want to get it ASAP, I would recommend taking anything that can be added after delivery if the order (things like mats, mud flaps and other accessories), even if they aren't constraint items.

Pete at Autonation Ford in White Bear Lake made it a slick process from start to finish. The MSRP price that I was given in June was the price I paid.

About what I ordered in mine. I ordered in July. So you might have a bit of a wait...or maybe my dealer ordered wrong and doesn't have allotments who knows.

If you haven't received an initial confirmation from Ford yet, your dealer has not placed your order. Get on their case, and if they balk find someone else. I'd personally recommend Granger in Iowa - they were excellent to deal with from start to finish, worth the day (or overnight) trip and on a fully spec'd XLT you're going to save close to 2 grand.

About what I ordered in mine. I ordered in July. So you might have a bit of a wait...or maybe my dealer ordered wrong and doesn't have allotments who knows.
I assume you received the initial confirmation from Ford back in July?

I've said this before here on the forum, but if you want to get your build asap, drop anything that can be added by the dealer or after purchase. It doesn't matter if it is a constrained item or not. Think about it this way. If it is your job to get builds scheduled, and you have 10 orders on a list in front of you - you need to schedule 8. All 10 are the same factory build specs (for my example lets say XLT/2.0/tow/FX4/Sunroof/360). 2 of these orders have a non-constrained add on, something like a tonneau cover.

If I am working with numbers and probably in a spreadsheet or some similar database, I am going to apply the fastest filters to create a list of the most common attributes to get those 8 trucks built. The first filter is going to be for add-ons that can only be done at the factory. After that, it becomes about excluding potential builds based on something unique in the build requirements. That could mean that the 2 with the tonneau are more likely to not be scheduled. It isn't about how much they are making with each particular build - it is about scheduling efficiently (both for the scheduler's job, and from a factory process perspective).

So if you have floor mats, or cup holders, or a locking safe, or an added tonneau - anything that can be added at the dealer or later, drop them if you want to be scheduled! Keep only the things that can't be done afterwards - fx4, tow, sunroof, rear slider, lux package, 360 (maybe others?).

I'm only mentioning this all again because it has worked for others when I've mentioned it previously.
