Funny how the 1980’s had far far fewer engine related recalls & problems compared to today.

I would also monitor the dipstick and use a tire gauge back then. Still do of course.
My first recall ever was in I think 2008 on my 2008 Taco, something simple.
My 2016 XLT Transit Connect had one, one ping. Give me a ping Vasillie, one ping only.

My next Four recalls, all with in a year were on my 2021 Bronco Sport Base Model with the peppy 3 cylinder 1.5 liter turbo Dragon motor.
It put out almost exactly the same Hp and Torque numbers as the Maverick Hybrid 2.5 liter does WITH the combined power of the Ice And the Electric motors all on at once.
Altho it had to, ‘spin up’ first.
Funny part is it would dutifully climb the pass to Franklin but give two miles per gallon less that my current 2024 AWD Ecoboost in all situations.
1.5 L turbo, 3 banger had far less power and about 9% less mpg’s
Than the 4 cylinder 2.0 liter Turbo in the slightly heavier Maverick.

My first oil change was at 3,000 miles with a switch to Motorcraft Full Syn.
Now at 9,030 I’m at 51% on the oil life monitor.
So per the oil life monitor my Oil is ok out to 12,000 miles.

I drive briskly, strong and fast.
I guess Italian tune ups work.
:’P
Watch what happens when it hits 49%.

If FoMoCo had adopted a more inclusive engine oil life calculator, I would agree.
I tried a more inclusive oil change schedule, but gave it up as too much effort.

Do you have any idea how hard it is to find gay black female oil? Or Indonesian with traumatic brain injury?

I had a BS BB and I would say the Mileage back and forth to work was a couple MPG better than the 2025 AWD XLT Maverick I have now with the 2.0 EB. But I could see You getting better mileage than the BS climbing hills as Your Maverick has more power and probably isn't struggling as much as the little 1.5 EB 3 cylinder did.

My full syn full services are $79 and every fifth one is free. Works out to about $63 per service.
Thats a dealer price, that's cheap, I pay less than a 100, 90 something, for oil and filter and tire rotation at my selling dealer and first one is always free, I only do about 5k a year, so I can't complain about the cost of maintenance, I always due first at 2k and 5k after that, don't care what ford says. Have had ECO and now Hybrid don't care, you guys that wait to 10k will be sorry if you keep your vehicle long term, ford won't be around to help you when you get into higher mileage.

Sounds about right. Mine was at 58% when I changed the oil yesterday with 4776 miles.

When to change the oil is the most personalized aspect of being a car owner. Everyone does what makes them feel good, and that's the way it should be. I rode a 71 Norton Commando (hard) for 30 something k back in the day. I changed the oil every 1K. No filter on that bike, so I cleaned the bottom of the oil tank with a toothbrush dipped in a little bit of gasoline and dried the oil tank out with a rag. At age 19, I certainly didn't read anything about when to change the oil. Great bike with a very long life. After that it was cars with an oil and filter change every 3k - just like everyone else. Once I got into Japanese cars and synthetic oil became popular, it was 5K oil and filter and I got 250 K out of my Honda pilot and out of my Lexus rx350. I'm stuck in that era of 2 decades ago and change the oil and filter (Mobil 1) in my Maverick every 5K ... not because it's smart, but because it puts a little smile on my face. Enjoy your ride!

I change at 5,000 miles.
My point was how the oil monitor tells me 12,000 is about right.
I’d think ford did that on purpose, follow me ?
I did take a taco to 528,000 trouble free miles on 10,000 mile service intervals.

Took several various makers engines well past 350,000 trouble free miles with 10,000 oil change intervals driving in the brutal central Florida heat and humidity.
So,,,
