Had planned to cut access panels on shield under engine for oil changes. Wondering if filter and drain plug are in same location on both engines? I Have template for hole locations on the ecoboost motor?

I slid under and did some measuring and it seems both the filter and drain plug are in the same place as the ecoboost. Needed to cover up the large hole in the shield and then cut the access panels. I didn’t cut the shield pieces out completely, left part there and creased it to make “doors”Well. The smart thing to do would be to take down that under-cover one time to verify your template before you make access holes. At the same time, it would answer your question on filter and drain location.
That would eliminate all guesswork and the possibility of ruining the existing under-cover if you punch through in the wrong spot.

Did you also create a way to hold those "doors" closed?I slid under and did some measuring and it seems both the filter and drain plug are in the same place as the ecoboost. I get that, I'm old too but much more of a cheap ass I guess. lolI have to laugh: you young guys are welcomed to it!!! With what you are going thru to change your oil, my dealership is WELCOMED to it, NO MATTER HOW MUCH HE CHARGES. It is an annual expense that I will live with. P.S. I envy your youth.
I'm hip, and I have done a 180-degree turnaround. My whole life I have preached against going to dealerships to have any work done. Now, I would rather have my Ford dealer do my work than any of the shops. Experience, like yours, counts. I have had good experience with my dealer, and will continue to deal with him as long as he continues to do good work. Knock wood.I get that, I'm old too but much more of a cheap ass I guess. lol
ten bolts zapped out and there it is. Simple. My city picks up used oil for free so that helps.
Another thing about it is the kids they have changing oil these days. I don't trust them for nothing.
I've had my oil changed exactly 2 times in my life. Both times they screwed up. One left the oil filter loose and the other didn't lube the joints like promised.
I have some thumb latches coming to still install in the “doors” to hold them closed, supposed to be here TuesdayDid you also create a way to hold those "doors" closed?
Otherwise, if the "hinge" is at the rear, it looks like they'll be flapping in the wind as you drive.

Did this work to hold the shield door you cut in place.I have some thumb latches coming to still install in the “doors” to hold them closed, supposed to be here Tuesday

Worked fineDid this work to hold the shield door you cut in place.
I thought about using zip ties on one side and just use the existing shield on the opposite side as its own hinge. then just replace the zips after cutting them after oil chg.
What did you dover the filter access hole after cutting it that part of the shield out?I slid under and did some measuring and it seems both the filter and drain plug are in the same place as the ecoboost. Needed to cover up the large hole in the shield and then cut the access panels. I didn’t cut the shield pieces out completely, left part there and creased it to make “doors”

Before I had the access panels printed, I cut out almost all of both holes and just creased the liner and put Quarter turn catches on them to keep them closed, exactly what you’re thinking about, here’s my post and it has some pics:What did you dover the filter access hole after cutting it that part of the shield out?
I desired to cut out a hole also. I looked at that section several times and the issue appears to be that the section is not flat which would make it difficult to cover after cutting out that section>
Did you just leave the hole there without covering, which would be an option.
I though about cutting out three sides of the square and creasing the fourth side and taping the slices with tape that you have in the picture.
