This comment is more for those who change their own oil
There some 0W-20 full synthetics that don't meet Ford WS-M2C963-A1 specs. Oddly enough Mobil 1 Hybrid 0W-20 does not meet the spec, but their Extended performance does

Yes it does.

96 2 - A1.

Just checked again and it was 5w-30.....calling back again!
It's still going to be fine.

Some people on these message boards are using 5w-30 intentionally in warm climates.

First,usually the person changing the oil is definitely not a teck! second,i doubt you will ever know the difference in 10w 30 and 5 w 30.yes ,10 % of the people do need 5 w30.depends on where you live,how you drive and if you haul alot of tools or pull a heavy trailer alot.just my opinion,so give me heck,im used to it🙃

It isn't going to hurt it. If you look up the spec for what those numbers mean your mind will be at ease knowing they didn't hurt it. That being said they screwed up and I would probably be inclined to tell them we are doing this again.

I know the Motorcraft does meet the spec, my point was for those who do their own oil changes don't assume every 0-20 does

My point was - The one you specifically called out as not meeting spec, does meet spec.

You have the wrong spec. Reread 2 posts in this thread and your manual.
Attention to details!

Wrong, I never said Motorcraft didn't meet the specs. I clearly stated this was for 0-20 oils and for those who do their own oil changes. Read it again 😂

Wrong spec for 0W-20 synthetic for a hybrid. Ford spec for their hybrid is WSS-M2C962-A1, not what you posted. Ford has different specs for different vehicles, synthetic and blends as well as viscosities. The Ecoboost and the hybrid have different oil specs..

Give it a rest, Man!

Packages are not all inclusive

And

Any of the oils discussed here are ok for your truck.

Edit: what's really funny is Google AI says the M2C962 was designed for ECOBOOST engines, specifically to address LSPI Low Speed Pre-Ignition, a common issue in turbocharged engines.

"If your Ford Vehicle has an EcoBoost engine, it likely requires WSS-M2C962-A1 oil."

Ha! Hopefully we're all smarter from this discussion.

That last digit only specs the weight of the oil. Otherwise, they are ALL THE SAME.

WSS-M2C960-A1
WSS-M2C961-A1
WSS-M2C962-A1
WSS-M2C963-A1

ARE ALL THE SAME EXCEPT:

60 = 5w-20
61 = 5w-30
62 = 0w-20
63 = 0w-30

Now you know. I just learned that too.

Glad you corrected your post proving you got the point being made.
No problem with you warning people to be careful. That's NOT what I was commenting to - but I think you've proven you understand that.

YOU gave the wrong spec initially - I already quoted your post, despite the correction.

YOU said the Mobile 1 Hybrid did not meet your incorrectly posted spec.

YOU misread my post and only read Motorcraft - you did NOT read the spec or the call out to what was wrong, because you double-downed on wrong info in latter post.

YOU misread another post correcting you on the Mobile 1 Hybrid oil, which clearly states the correct Spec. Or you are not reading the whole list of specs in that picture of the bottle. Read a little closer.

Hey - I screw up too and been called out.
Just give it up and except it.

Just no need for inaccurate info to be stated. So thank you for correcting your post, kind of.
Except Mobile 1 Hybrid does meet the spec though.
