Separates oil and air from the mist coming from pcv . Oil drains into can and cleaner air to intake track to burn.

The recommended procedure is removing the intake and walnut blasting the back of the valves.
That's not quick, easy or cheap.

Working on offshore oil/gas production platforms, some had turbine powered pumps, compressors, used walnut shell to clean blades of salt air buildups. Spin starter, get blades rolling and throw the shells inside intakes. And do distilled water spray in the inlet. A monthly service..
