I need that mast antenna for these beauties.
Otherwise, how will I know what season we’re in????

I can remember where I parked last year but not a hour ago.

I am replacing mine with a bullet shaped antenna. I think it will look cool.

Most of my CB's had a 4' whip in the center of the roof
The perfect place for a CB antenna is on the roof. Creates a more circular Ground Plane.

Does the whip fold down and if it does is it spring loaded?

Having the antenna on the roof?

I've seen a few people respond negatively to it. What's the deal?
Not only do they rot after a few years in Florida, it is a lousy location if you want to use the roof!.

No clue. I’m not against an antenna, but a lot of youtubers act like it is old design and makes the car look like a remote control toy.

The Maverick’s short rubber antenna is way more modern than the long metal one that is still on Ram 1500 tradesman edition trucks.

A bit snobby to look down on cars with antennas, in my opinion.

Some of us Ham radio operators put their antennas on the roof in addition to the one that is already there. Some of us put 3 or 4 more, depending on bands we operate on. We recognize each other that way when we see a vehicle with lots of antennas. The only exception is when there are blue lights along with the antennas. We keep our distance to them.

I don't know. As a Amateur Radio operator who thinks nothing of talking to Japan on my radio in my truck, I keep my antennas just under 14 feet so I don't hit over passes..
However...
There is a technical reason, as my brother-in-law who is an Audio engineer at Ford in Dearborn will attest to..

Those "stubby ducks" cannot capture radio waves like the big whips can.. Now it;s a so whater if you're in NYC or Atlanta, or LA...
And Ford engineers. My brother-in-law, gives you the best compromise antenna for the general population. So you're radio reception will be "almost normal" coming from the cowel -front fender 31 inch whip of years ago. ESPECIALLY with AM. With my big antenna I can hear Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Toronto. New Orleans AM radio stations at night in Kansas.

BUT not all of you live out here in the prairies of Kansas and the mid west. where radio stations are located further apart, and since radio stations have government restrictions on how much power they can run, the "numb" little antenna will not perform..

Who benefits? the guy that sells them..

Your Maverick factory antenna will even fit into Boston Parking garages that have 6'6" ceilings...an F150 4x4 won't

That was my next question, what do they want instead. IMO, it's better than something on the hood
No....they don't want something on the hood....they just want a "bit" shorter antenna where this one already is. Therefore.....the perfect replacement is the "Stubby"....which I got after seeing it on this site. Reception is no better.....but I find it is no worse either. Just "Looks" better than the stock one.

Anyone mount a 8’ whip antenna on the rear bumper with a tennis ball near the top for their CB Radio?
