That is more units sold than any midsize truck except the Tacoma.

Double the sales units of the Chevy Colorado ( is second behind the Tacoma)

3 times more Mavericks sold than Rangers.

Lots of new forum members this year? Me for one:)

I was one of those! Most money I've ever spent on Black Friday! Lol.

This is the first time I've ever seen any discounts or rebates on the Mav's, especially ones that stack, as I got nearly $3,000 off of mine. I'd imagine there were quite a few folks like me who jumped at a chance to pay something under MSRP for these.

With X plan, farm bureau, and private offer I was right around the $3k discount on MSRP in Jan 2025.

Very nice! I'll admit I wasn't in a position to get a new car in January, and haven't really been following prices until spring or so.

Just a few short years ago it was rare to see a Maverick anywhere. Now, everytime I run an errand I see a half dozen of them. Still gotta say I do see damn few sitting on dealer lots. Tons of F-150 Lightnings, nobody wants those, but Mavericks are selling big up here, mostly AWD.

In November 2024, weren't they all on hold because of the camera recall?
Yes, at this time last year only the Lariat Trim was available for sale. XL and XLT were unavailable due to the recall you mentioned and had a stop sale order.

It's a shame automakers don't report profit by vehicle model. I would love to see the numbers for how much profit Ford earns on 150,000 Mavericks compared to 700,000 F Series trucks. I have no clue what the difference in profit woud be, but it would be interesting.

I'm especially curious about the profit numbers adjusted for recall costs. My intuition tells me Ford lost money on Maverick in the early years, but made money after years of price hikes. But I don't know that - it's anybody's guess.

I saw an interesting tidbit on the much maligned Santa Cruz sales figures. The Hyundai regional manager was quoted as saying they sell out every year. If they had capacity in the shared USA factory, they'd build and sell more.

See, this is actually how car selling used to be. High MSRP but then manufacturer incentives, discounts, promotions, dealer incentives, rebates, etc.

I think some of us got so used to MSRP being non-negotiable that when the MSRP went up (and a lot, this year), that people just assumed that's the only price they'll ever be able to pay to get one.

Not saying it's a great deal. Still more thanks to a lot of logistical issues we will not argue about here. But seeing discounts will fluctuate with demand to keep the sales going as production hums along. Too much inventory? More incentives and rebates, etc. Sales spiking, no need to discounts, etc. No more throttling the plant high and low output depending on the whims of the customer based demand.

I was just at the "local" dealership in a town about 20 miles away and they had 8-9 Mavericks but 4 LOBOs, 2 Tremors. I think the XL and XLTs fly off the lots and the Lariats are likely custom ordered and also don't hang around too long.

I would love a Ranger or an F150 to be honest - but we got 6" of snow here last night and I can't/won't afford one of those at $55-60k to get 4A - it is something I cannot stand about Ford how they gate keep AdvancedTrac.

It was wonderful to hop in the my Mav AWD with Wildpeak AT Trails and head out without a worry while she ate up all the fresh snow.

Wow. I guess the lust for a 20k truck was nonsense. What’s the profit compared to other entry level vehicles?
