Same hereHence the reason I did not get that window. Maybe Ford thinks you need to know when you are swerving all over the road to reach back and manually open that window.

Its called Kid Power that opens that window....or the wife stretchHence the reason I did not get that window. Maybe Ford thinks you need to know when you are swerving all over the road to reach back and manually open that window.
..Don't know for sure. If that's the case, maybe it's a tacit admission by Ford that the sliding window impedes the rear and right blind-spot view (so you need the additional safety features).
Just a guess...
Is there ever enough of anything you can option on a vehicle under $1000?4 windows and a sunroof- shouldant that be enough air flow ?
I have placed items all the way to the windshield before! Light, long items; trim, pvc, copper, etc. I do a lot of home remodeling work for my kids. Main reason I getting this truck. I need to be able to haul long stuff sometimes.10 feet would protrude about 5 feet into the passenger compart- How would that work ?
You will not regret it manual or powered. Thanks for the all the input- At the end of the day I added the silly little window as there are more than a few good use case scenarios and with my build it only added $140- Cheers
On my old 1998 Ranger SuperCab (6 foot bed) the sliding windows was useful as the opening was as tall as the rear window height. I could open it and then have 8-10 foot length of 2x4's or 1x4's etc go from the bed tailgate bottom left corner through the window and between the front bucket seats.Yes, I hate the option. Even the power one is pretty useless..
Have you really looked at the picture of it. The window is very small. It appears to be about 6 inches tall and the bottom of it appears to be 4 inches above the bed top.I have placed items all the way to the windshield before! I agree the Lariat interior color scheme is just too much of a contrast. I'm really ok with the orange highlight on the XLT and really it's not that much if you think about it. Plus I know that down the line the aftermarket will come out with different colors to replace those orange pieces. So if they do get to me I'll swap them out.I got it for my pooch. He can stick his head out. I don't let him stick his head out the sides. Too dangerous. But out the back there won't be the debris risk. And Sunroof + rear window is as close to a convertible my bald head wants to get.Would love to have it powered. Would love a lot of the Lariat features, but don't like leather, and I don't like that two tone color scheme. I know a lot of folks think the orange in the SLT is too loud, I actually like the orange but hate that brown color in the Lariat. Wish you could choose interior surface options instead of being trim exclusives.
The window measures 11.5" X 7"Have you really looked at the picture of it. The window is very small. It appears to be about 6 inches tall and the bottom of it appears to be 4 inches above the bed top.
Since the bed is only 4.5 feet deep going through the window with an 6 foot board will hit the ceiling. I really can't see a 8-10 foot anything going through that window.

So 7" tall vs my 6" guess.The window measures 11.5" X 7"
Yes, you gained an inch!So 7" tall vs my 6" guess.
Still useless for me.
I meant to order the window when I went in place my order. Got home and realized I'd forgotten. Wife said "call them and add it." But when I thought about it, I decided it wouldn't really be useful. I'm a woodworker. I'm going to be hauling cherry, maple, oak, etc. This is heavy stuff. I really don't think I want to put that load on the window. I really need some kind of rack. So save the $150 and put it toward a rack system.Have you really looked at the picture of it. The window is very small. It looks a bit bigger from the inside... Is the manual and the power the same size???
