Yesterday I was streaming music from my iPhone and the sound was crap -- sounded like some of the speakers weren't working - kind of like GPS navigation sounds. I tried adjusting the sound, but the balance, fader, bass, mid-range and treble controls did not work. The fader and balance slider buttons were responding, but would simply snap back to where they were. The bass, midrange and treble buttons moved, but there was no change in sound. Several reboots of the radio, things started working properly again. Then today, the same thing happened.

Any idea what is going on here? My 2022 Maverick never had this issue in the 11 months I owned it.

Mine does this periodically and it is generally fixed with a soft reset (Power + Skip Forward Button for 10 seconds).

It's pretty annoying. I have updated the software once before and it did make it better. This still happens about every month.

Does anyone know what the most current infotainment software version is for the XL/XLT crowd? (Lariats have Sync3, very different UI)

A reset may help, but there have been a couple posts I've seen recently about this issue. Most have no reports after the fact, but you are not alone.

If you haven't had the radio/infotainment lock up on you in 11 months, you must hold the record. I had to learn the soft reset procedure within the first week. The more you try to do with it, the more it will freeze. I have a USB drive always connected with almost 6000 songs and I use Android Auto. Problems are random, but somewhat frequent.

New Version is 2.2.0.1 and I just upgraded mine this morning. I was having lockups where Android Auto would not let any of the vehicle controls work unless I unplugged my USB to the phone. Post upgrade and after a reset (suggested) I have had no issues. Also worth knowing is that you can hotspot your phone, logon with the Maverick, and upgrade the software. I found I had to check for updates twice before it proceeded. Once downloading started, I had errands to run. The update will run in the background even though you get a "some features are disabled while the vehicle is in motion" warning.
Total update time was about 15 minutes and of course your download speed will depend on signal strength.
Hope this helps fix some of your issues!

<EDIT> - Next day and I have yet to complain... SXM through my phone provides a better quality sound than any XM radio I've had or heard. Next up will be wireless AA.
