When connecting via Bluetooth only, not wired connection, I have an issue where no audio plays. The media will show properly on the infotainment screen (be it YT Music, Audible, etc.) - just no sound. Adjusting volume on phone and/or vehicle has no effect.

Works fine when wired and using Android Auto. Also works fine in other Ford vehicles (2020 Explorer, 2017 Edge), and with other Bluetooth speakers.

Phone: OnePlus 8T+5G. Android v12. Bluetooth v5.1

Anyone else experiencing this?

Not exactly the same, but the audio quality for bluetooth audio is pretty terrible for me. As is the radio.
I use USB drive for music and it works great.

I have to say via the cable w/Android Auto the sound is great. Even Sirus XM sounds good, compared to how it sounded on my 2017 Edge. I just wish I could get audio from a standard Bluetooth connection

Yeah, it is strange. I just shifted all the music I'd usually listen to on bluetooth onto USB drives and that has been working well for me.
Does the phone audio work on bluetooth for you? Or is that the same as the media?

Hmmm, I'll have to try a phone call over the bluetooth-only connection. Thanks for the idea!

Of the Infotainment System I assume you mean - Is that an option in the menu's, or am I pulling the battery cable?

It’s a combination of held buttons. I think it’s the power and advance to the end button pressed and held for a few seconds. It’s in the manual as well.

Im not picking on your method here, exactly. But there really is just no substitute for using Apple Carplay or Android auto on this system. What is the reason you don't want to do this?

Maybe Ford Mav is using an older version of BT; but that should not matter as your Android should be OK with that. Go figure, good luck!

Is media audio checked when you go to settings/connected devices/Ford Maverick?

I get it, fair question. I have the Nav package and wanted to be able to use the native Nav and not Google Maps via AA all the time. I listen to audio books mostly and the infotainment shows the info much better than on my 2017 Edge.

I also suffer from the notorious AA near random disconnect/reconnect when wired.

I want to chime in on this if you have not tried, I don't have my Maverick yet but my GTI did this horrendously with many cables. A lot of cables that "Work" are charge cables and not designed for high rate data transfer. Try to find yourself a quality data transfer cable and see if that helps. It did for me.

Didn't consider the data rate, that's a great point. Any recommendations on cable brand, etc.?
