My 26yr old son sent me this and said I needed to lower mine like this.

I really like the look and even the stripe. But how does lowering affect the ride quality? And what the heck is that growth on the front?

I won't do it unless that is what YOU are into. It's your truck, not your adult sons! Lowering it would probably make it a stiffer ride.

One of the reasons I got the Maverick was because it was higher off the ground. All my other cars were lowered and suffered road rash, curb rash and driveway cracks because of this. Really got tired of this. Now, I could care less about "surprise" potholes and deep driveways. I also can get in and out of the Maverick without feeling like I am climbing out of the Friendship 7 astronaut capsule.

As for the ride with the Maverick being lowered, it has been stated in MaverickTruckClub that it is really smooth. I do like how the Maverick looks lowered, I'm just done with the hassles that come with a lowered vehicle.

This. I love the look of the low trucks, really. But what I have found in the last month is that my FX4 doesn't even have the same ground clearance as my old Acura SUV had. Without a Tremor or lift, I am having to get used to scraping here and there. I mean, people lower Civics and stuff, but I bought a truck for the utility, and less ground clearance means less utility to me.

Oh, and if the growth on the front is not a Nespresso pod, it looks like he stuck a weird convex side marker light on, probably powered by the wires already there.

I drive a truck. Clearance is good to have it you use it as a truck.

Same, the last several vehicles I have owned were either lowered or already kinda low. I got a truck because I needed something easier to get in and out due to medical issues. As much as I want to lower it, unless I go with bags, it just isn't really feasible.

That growth on the front looks like one of those driveway or mailbox reflectors. Lowering a truck is bass ackwards. Should have bought a sports car if that's what they wanted.

I love my lowered/leveled truck and so does the wifey.Eibach springs were easy to do-rides like a Caddy.Hate the rake on trucks

That truck might be on coilovers. If you go with just springs ( I recommend Eibach) the ride difference was minimal. Alot of my friends actually said it rides better.
