I had no problem with my old phone (motorola edge 2022). Just upgrades to a motorola G 2024 and can not for the life of me get it connected to android auto. I've tried all the trouble shooting I've found online and still nothing. The bluetooth connects no problem... but can't get android auto to pop up. If I go into "sources" of audio My phone pops up as well as "Android Auto" but when I click on AA nothing happens. Has anyone experienced this and hopefully solved it?

Wild guess = Have you rebooted phone in presence of truck after it was paired?

I'm not sure. I will try that today.
I found this in another thread =
MetalsGeek, one thing I do is have it set so Android Auto connects, but does not open. My Sync 3 radio stays as my default screen. If I do get a phone call, or text, AA will then open. Also, if I press the voice command button.

Otherwise, the only way I know AA is connected is the option appears on the bottom row.

Just a thought if you haven't tried that. Maybe a tolerable work around for your needs?

While connected to your truck, go into settings on your phone and search for Android Auto. That should start the set-up process. You might need to delete any existing vehicles first.

Yeah the Android auto button or notification at the bottom doesn't come up on mine. If I go into sources sometimes there is a fourth option in there AM FM my phone and then Android auto but when I click on Android auto nothing happens.

Vin, I would agree with Bob, and try deleting your old phone, if you haven't already.

These type problems can have so many causes, with so many different phones and app updates, it's tough to know what to recommend.

I'm sure you've made sure your phone's wifi is on, etc? (On Edit: this was wrongly assuming you had an AA dongle. Which if so, may need to be paired with the phone.)

Good luck! It sure shouldn't be that hard, but it can be.

No dongle. The Bluetooth connects the phone for audio, but I use the USB cable to connect for Android Auto. It worked with all my other phones until now. And yeah of course everything is turned on I deleted my first phone. In fact I deleted this one three times to redo it which is probably what I'll be doing tomorrow unless someone has some sort of magic bullet.

Not sure I know what that means. Active as in music playing? Because I have no trouble with the music. Or do I have to receive a phone call? Because I never needed to do any of this when I set up my other phones. Frustrating.

You sure you're using a USBC cable and not a USB-A cable?

Have you turned mobile data on in your phone settings? Maybe even roaming data on? But that may cost.
ETA: the moto g 2024 needs a high speed data cable. I know you have said you have tried different cables....

The truck should walk you through the process. Delete any AA connections & bluetooth connections in the truck and reboot the truck's infotainment system. Hold down power/vol button + skip > button for about 10 seconds.

Go to google play and uninstall AA from there. Restart your phone and reinstall AA on it. Go back to the truck and restart the process from the truck's infotainment system.
