I have a pretty nice size dent, and a good gash on my rear driver's side door. (I had a little too much fun offroading in Moab a few weeks ago). Here's my question: Would it be better to get the dent repaired, and have a shop paint over the gash, or would it be better to get a whole new door? I found one online for around 250$, but it's not the right color so I would have to get it painted. Any suggestions?

If installing a new door, I would suggest painting the entire door so that no trace of its original color remains (inside).

Good luck

Good chance the new door will not exactly match the front/back fender without blending all those sections-

That is a large repair, with a brace behind, and looks very sharp. That PDR repair will not come out close to perfect, maybe 8/10 with a skilled tech, and will be way more than $250 - and you are missing paint, which kind of makes "paintless dent" repair useless lol.

Easy to say when it is not your money, but I agree with the $250 door and get it painted. Good luck whatever you decide.

Dent repair. It's going to cost you way more than 250 to replace the door if you want it done right

$250 for the door or $250 for the outer door skin?

you can have a door-"skin"put on it by any body shop very easy the cost would be about the same as the whole door but you will not have to remove the door and it will be put on your door this is always better.but it will still have to be painted and clear coated!

Live with it. When there's more mavericks out there the prices will come down and you might find a red one.

I just recently had a small pea size dent repaired for $280. The area probably covered the size of a quarter. Now it probably would have been cheaper had I not tried to fix it myself and end up causing more damage for the dent repair shop to fix.

I'm with the other members...get that new door and have it painted. I imagine getting that dent repaired will cost more even before considering the paint required to cover that long gash.
