First dent

Well more of a ding. Something fell out of a tree and bounced off the front of the hood leaving a small but noticeable ding about the size of a dime right in the middle. Damn trees!

At least now I can stop worrying about keeping it perfect.

Stay away from Oak trees, those acorns can be heavy hitters, like a small hailstone. Evergreens are a killer too for a different reason. The pine cones are harmless but the pitch is PIA. Then you have my neighbor's kid with an "errant" .177 pellet from his gun but that is a different story.

I once had a broken tree branch fall on my hood. Put a darned big dent in the hood. Also had a car get wrecked by hail the size of golf balls. Insurance guy said you could track the storm by where the claims were.

Your neighbor's kid needs and errant .177 pellet in his butt.

Yeah if it isn't too expensive I will try to get them to pop it out. It's literally front and center on the hood.

A big branch, yeah. Not sure what this was - I barely saw it. It seemed to drop from above - no paint damage. Initially we thought it was a stone kicked up by a big truck right in front of us. That would have chipped the paint so I guess we should count our blessings.

They replaced the hood on my old car when it happened to me. Not doing a claim for this.
