It has now been a year since the 25 has been out on the roads. At first I didn't care for the photos of what was to come. The front facia looked like it was tacked on like an afterthought. Now after a year of seeing them on the road, I think it really looks good. Very up to date. There is a big difference between the press photos and seeing them in person. Now my 22 XLT kind of looks dated :(

But not dated enough to fork out the cash for a new one :)

What are your thoughts?
Sorry I thought it looked bad in photos and my opinion has not gotten better with age. Still ugly.

I still don't like the large painted areas under the headlights. The Explorers have had a similar issue but not as bad. They just made the faux intake/fog lights bigger and higher to take up some of the space. I think the "horns" on the Maverick was a good enough fix to tie things together for the facelift without major modifications to the fenders.

Hoods got taller to pack in larger engines and more stuff but the designers don't quite know how to make small car-sized lights still "fit".

I think it does look good with the Lobo grill. I still have not seen a real Lobo out in the wild yet though.

A big reason I went for the lariat is because i really like the headlights. I think they look very modern. The lariat really should've came with fog lights, odd reasoning to have them only on the lobo.

That's kind of like trying to compare the version of your spouse/SO when you first met her/him to the one today. I won't answer that one....

My personal thoughts:

The "U" shaped piece of body color facia that wraps under the headlights and below the grill looks out of place on certain colors. To me, especially on a white truck, it almost looks like a band aid slapped on to cover something. My biggest issue is that they firmly outlined this piece of plastic so that it stands out instead of blending in.

However, on darker trucks, like black, green, gray, etc- that outline isn't as apparent, and it blends into the front end, allowing the headlights to "stand out" against the body, rather than the "U" piece to be the highlight.

To me, a minor update just smoothing out the firm lines and softening the shape of that piece would go a long way toward improving it across all colors.

My local dealership has a white one that's been on the lot for months, but grey, green and black units barely get a parking spot before they are sold.

Still HATE it as much as before. Yes I saw some in person too. Hope the remodel in say 28 fixes it.

I bought the 22 then my sister bought the 25. Couldn't help myself and had to poke fun at those mudflaps under her headlights.

I'm pretty sure we already established that the '25 front-end is better, why do we need another thread discussing it?

Jokes aside - I don't think the '22-'24 front-end looks bad at all, I just think the '25 looks better. More modern looking to me. The '22-'24 looks like something from a mid 2010's era vehicle. Of course all of this is subjective, so we can debate it until the next gen Mav comes out and then we can all agree that one is ugly!
