Not necessarily - if you weren't looking specifically for it, you might've seen a few in your travels and dismissed it as a Ranger since it looks like a conventional pickup truck....
except it says 'Maverick' right on the back of it in big letters.

Before I retired, I drove an F 250 For many years at work as well as a box truck and a 30000 GRVW stake body. I had had my fill of big and all of the hassles accompanying that. When I retired I went small. First I inherited a Chevy s 10. Drove that until the body pan rusted out and left the driver's seat sitting in the driveway. So I went car shopping but with limited means ($) I know it would be a challange. After much research I headed into my local ford dealership with an ultimatum. I can spend this much and this is what I want. Thinking I was settling i was taken out on the lot where the Mavericks were sitting. Size was right, price was almost right so I went for a test drive. Settle my eye! I was in love. I think my salesman saw that I wanted the truck so he want to work on the numbers. I got all the truck i wanted for the price I could pay. Just turned over 10,000 miles. No issues, no worries and I am loving everything about my truck.
Now you know why the Mavericks are selling like hotcakes.

They are "Stamped" into the metal...
On some colors.. Not THAT easy to see from afar. 🤔

I did have a Original Maverick.. Bought Used, had it for about five years.
Sold it to my brother. He had it for a little less than two..
A Semi lost control, coming down his street.
Pushed the Rear Axle and Bumper forward, to about four inches behind the drivers' seat...o_O

This thread really shows the diversity of owners Ford has attracted (great news for marketing ). I (being a confessed car nut ) find it hard to believe that Mavericks were not on everyone's radar as a new , innovative ,economical vehicle -I wanted one since day one , but had just bought a new Mustang and couldn't quite swing 2 car payments . Three years later my hunt was on and then waiting almost a year to find an available Hybrid to actually test drive-drove an EB ,but decided to hold out for a Hybrid-thankful I did . Has been my favorite vehicle ever since !

Thank you I appreciate your kind words. I was surprised by one of the early responses but that was quickly overshadowed by so many well intended replies.
This isn't the only Maverick trucklett forum, but it's the best.
Lots of good information on the site.

Yeah, but it is pressed into the metal - so is Ranger and F150 as well...

Looks like a 8-track player.
My mother had one in her 73 Chevelle. I still have a box of tapes; most are polkas like The Beer Barrel Polka.🍻 Cedar Rapids, IA where she lived had a relatively large Czechoslovakian population and polka music was big. The "good old days"....:crackup:

Welcome to the Maverick Truck Club forum from Alaska!

Please post pictures of your Maverick. :camera:

I must have been living under a rock these last few years but until a month ago I never heard of the Maverick PU. Sure I heard of the Maverick car of the 70s but not this. I've been driving a Ram1500 Laramie Crew Cab w/6'4" bed for the past ten years. Since I no longer really needed something so large that averaged around 12 mph (99% local driving) I started looking for something with good fuel economy. Searching for options I came across the hybrid Maverick and it was love lol. This does everything I need in a very efficient and practical way. 3 weeks later I bought a 2025 XLT hybrid w/co-pilot, lux package in Ruby Red metallic. My RAM drove like the Mercedes Ml suv I traded in for it and still did 10 years later. The Maverick doesn't drive quite as smoothly but I have no complaints with how it drives. So happy I found it and the board.
