My truck got longer!!

So a couple years ago, I took my Maverick and went from Florida to Washington via Auto Train. For those of you not familiar with Auto Train, it runs (basically) from Orlando to Washington DC. Overnight trip. They put your vehicle on a car carrier and you get a seat in coach or a room of some type ($$). Anyway there's an added fee (naturally) for a vehicle which is based on it's size. My previous trip, I paid for a "standard" vehicle. No issues. So, when I booked this last trip, I did the same thing. Got to station. They told me that my vehicle is an "extended" vehicle and, surprice, they wanted more money!

By that standard, a new Toyota Camry is an extended vehicle at 193.5 inches.

I make that drive a few times a year up to NW Virgina and I just do it for the view by this point. If you're riding on I-95 all the way North, right around the border to NC and SC you can veer Northwestward and cut up through the Appalachians. Adds another 3 hours to my drive but there's some real pretty country up that way.
