Yes thank you !!!This is the thread containing all the known information.
I bought a set of silvers coilovers last summer, but after seeing all the axle issues, I decided to leave my hybrid stock.K have read in other posts that these axles are made by Hyundai. Can anyone co.fi if this is true?
Do you know Are the tremor axles stronger?and will they fit into a lariat? You realize this is happening with stock setups too, right?
It's a design flaw.
Yes, shitty lifts and lowering kits like OP's cause problems. Changing the angles will cause premature wear one way or another... but this is happening on stock Mavericks both Hybrid and EB's. I don't doubt that OP's puck kit accelerated it, but the fact remains that it does still happen on stock setups regardless. Reports on this forum from people who have done zero modding are having this issues - some multiple times even after having them replaced.
Are you at stock height? Any modifications done?
Thanks@Bwicka should know all the answers for you on this subject![]()
And yet...I've used the forum to:When I told him others on this forum had the same issue, he said something along the lines that people on the forums don't know what they are talking about
You did a great job of explaining your symptoms. I guarantee you will need at least one new front axle. Expect the symptoms to get worse.Don't know what is up. About 1-2 months ago I started experiencing what others have described. Going about 50 mph on the highway then when I accelerated somewhat aggressive (like when passing someone), but not hard like foot to the floor, I would get a shudder like a tire severely out of balance. Then about a few weeks ago it started getting a shudder at low speeds like 40 mph. First thing I checked was whether or not the tires were out of balance. I even had a new set of tires installed. So after I had the tires installed I made a couple of runs to the city dump about 20 miles each. The first trip it seemed that it was running with little to no shudder. The second tripI experienced severe shudder on a stretch of 40 mph road. I already had an appointment at the dealer in October (takes 3 weeks for an appointment now) but I got someone to drive it real quick. Wouldn't you know it but he couldn't get it to shudder. He went on a 40 mph road and hit the gas up to 50 a few quick times. Took it back to the dealership, put it up on a lift and grabbed the shaft and tried to shake it. Couldn't feel no slop. Had me do it I couldn't feel it either. Made me look stupid. I know there is a problem there. not my imagination. When I told him others on this forum had the same issue, he said something along the lines that people on the forums don't know what they are talking about. I said that some members on this forum are mechanics themselves. Anyways what I don't understand is how the CV joint could change bad-better-bad. I would assume if it is bad it would stay bad. I don't hear any clicking or play when I am turning in the parking lot either. Still, I'm like 99% sure the problem is in the right front CV axle. Hopefully I'm not getting my Maverick towed before the appointment.
I changed my oil the other day. While underneath, I took a look at my CV axles and I didn't see any leakage. I have just over 9,500 miles though. Is this an expensive fix? I'm experiencing the same symptoms every has been sharing. I think Ford should fix it but I'm afraid my warranty is done.
