My thoughts on CV axles - possible design flaw? (self replacement, tear down, tips on DIY-ing)

I'll say it again. Where is the data for how many have failed? A poll was started but I don't recall stellar results. In my view, more people talk about how big of a problem it is then people having the problem. To repeat an earlier post I made, I'm not saying there isn't a problem just present the data. So far all evidence is anecdotal.
And just because a bunch of people complained that 2.7L engines had a problem IS NOT evidence in this matter. Sorry.

I bought a set of silvers coilovers last summer, but after seeing all the axle issues, I decided to leave my hybrid stock.
I did some research, and found that "American axle manufacturing" supplies axles for several makes and models, including Ford Maverick...

So I ordered a passenger side front axle from Ford. Tag on axle shows part number NZ6Z-3B436-B. Got an email from order support that per my vin the part number is NZ6Z*3B436*D.
Im guessing that's like the 4th version of it. I don't know, either way they also said its on national back order til next month. I think my axle will be able to hold on this then.

Don't know what is up. About 1-2 months ago I started experiencing what others have described. Going about 50 mph on the highway then when I accelerated somewhat aggressive (like when passing someone), but not hard like foot to the floor, I would get a shudder like a tire severely out of balance. Then about a few weeks ago it started getting a shudder at low speeds like 40 mph. First thing I checked was whether or not the tires were out of balance. I even had a new set of tires installed. So after I had the tires installed I made a couple of runs to the city dump about 20 miles each. The first trip it seemed that it was running with little to no shudder. The second trip 
I experienced severe shudder on a stretch of 40 mph road. I already had an appointment at the dealer in October (takes 3 weeks for an appointment now) but I got someone to drive it real quick. Wouldn't you know it but he couldn't get it to shudder. He went on a 40 mph road and hit the gas up to 50 a few quick times. Took it back to the dealership, put it up on a lift and grabbed the shaft and tried to shake it. Couldn't feel no slop. Had me do it I couldn't feel it either. Made me look stupid. I know there is a problem there. not my imagination. When I told him others on this forum had the same issue, he said something along the lines that people on the forums don't know what they are talking about. I said that some members on this forum are mechanics themselves. Anyways what I don't understand is how the CV joint could change bad-better-bad. I would assume if it is bad it would stay bad. I don't hear any clicking or play when I am turning in the parking lot either. Still, I'm like 99% sure the problem is in the right front CV axle. Hopefully I'm not getting my Maverick towed before the appointment.

And yet...I've used the forum to:
1. Diagnose issues with my CV axles.
2. Download the service manual and find that the dealer that did my side airbag recall, Evergreen Ford, left nuts off my vehicle that would have changed how the airbags deployed in an accident that could have potentially killed my passengers and I.
Fact is, the quality of many of these so-called "techs" these days is pure

You did a great job of explaining your symptoms. I guarantee you will need at least one new front axle. Expect the symptoms to get worse.Don't know what is up. Your experience with the dealership is a huge reason why I just did the work myself. I had no interest playing that game with them.

I know that feeling of thinking something is wrong. I'm having my own woes but cant pinpoint it yet. Got a tapping feeling going down the road, feels worse at 35mph but its hard to tell as roads are kinda crap here. Disappears at higher speeds. Had the tires rebalanced and looked over but it didnt go away. that dang hybrid speaker keeps coving up the sounds when I try to hear it at slow speeds. Its going to have to get worse before it gets better.
Is this an expensive fix? I'm experiencing the same symptoms every has been sharing. I think Ford should fix it but I'm afraid my warranty is done.

I changed my oil the other day. While underneath, I took a look at my CV axles and I didn't see any leakage. I have just over 9,500 miles though.
