So I put a deposit down on a new 2022 Maverick Lariat that was on the lot and ordered for a person that decided against getting it last Friday and was supposed to pick it up today on Monday. I just got a call from the dealership saying there is some federal sticker that needs to be put on the truck before they can deliver it or they could be fined. The salesman said Ford shipped the stickers out and they should arrive this week. He said he would let me know as soon as the sticker arrives and it is ready to be picked up. I'm not sure if the sticker was missing altogether or if it is a corrected sticker meant to replace an incorrect sticker. Has anyone heard of this issue with the Mavericks?

May be they are referring to a Monroney sticker? It is weird that they couldn't just print your window sticker out and stick it themselves.

I hope it’s not being held at the Dealership for the “rear door recall”

Probably waiting on the new window sticker with the price increase. Ford is sending them out now for units on the ground

According to the salesperson it has nothing to do with a mechanical item or repairs it's some federal sticker he said. He did not mention the window sticker and that is on the vehicle.

Yes, there is a real FSA ("recall") on certain Escapes, Bronco Sports & Mavericks w/ 2.0L EB engine. 22L05.

There is an error on the emissions label:
In all of the affected vehicles, the Vehicle Emission Control Information (VECI) label is missing the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) and EGR Cooler (EGRC) components from the engine content description.

Labels will be sent directly to customers if they have already purchased.

The bulletin does say that the new label is supposed to be installed before in-stock vehicles are delivered to customers.

Labels supposed to be shipped to dealers this week.

Affected Maverick build dates: February 3, 2021 through July 8, 2022

Mine was a joke, another person here went to pick up the truck they had ordered and the Dealer stated they couldn’t release it because it was undergoing rear door recall (which doesn’t exist). Turned out the salesman lied and had sold the truck to his cousin and posted a video that was later found...

Well here it is Friday of the week the emission sticker is supposed to arrive and nothing yet. Truck just sits at the dealership waiting for a replacement emission sticker before I can take delivery. I've been in the automotive service and education industry all of my life and never seen anything as bad as this. What's really frustrating is it's alright for Ford to mail out and trust the stickers to customers that have already taken delivery but not ok for their customer to take delivery and install the sticker after the fact. Any contacts at Ford?

That is federal law. Not Ford.

What is confusing is that the dealer cannot just print a new window sticker instead of waiting on the mail. Can you access your window sticker online from your Ford email or account? If you can, check if it is the updated one. If so, print it out and take it to the dealer. Maybe they will let you use it.

This is NOT a window sticker that I am waiting for it is an engine compartment federal emission label, see post #7 here.

My mistake, I thought that post indicated it should have been on the window sticker. So you have to wait on the mail. Which is really, really unreliable lately.

Yes, very frustrating. These poor people waiting for their truck forever and here I have the truck but can't take delivery as it sits on the lot waiting for a label. Oh well I just have to hope Ford is better at mailing items out than they are at building and delivering vehicles!
