I'm not sure I understand what you mean .. in Florida? I bought an extra warranty from the dealer that goes to 5 years or 60k and I live in Florida and I bought my Mav in Tampa.. please explain what you mean.
If you bought it in Florida you are ok. Florida and California ban you from buying the esp from an out of State dealer. But if you have one it's good everywhere.

I have a 2022 XLT 2.0 EB FX4/4k Tow. I'm at about 39k miles now. While I've had some issues/glitches/etc... nothing too bad. However today I was told that my rear differential went bad and they are ordering the parts for it. They said hopefully in 2-3 weeks the parts will arrive and then they would schedule the repair.

Right around 36k miles, I heard a thumping noise sometimes. Initially I thought it was somethin in the bed, I pulled out a ladder I had in there, but it still persisted, then I thought my bed divider was wiggling, so I took that out and it persisted. Sometimes I would now hear a scraping sound so I finally called for a service appointment but that was several weeks out and it consistently got worse. In addition to the thump, you can hear it grind if I go from a dead stop, or if I accelerate when going around a corner.

I'll update when it is finally repaired and see what they put on the service ticket!
The dealer called me and said the parts arrived so I dropped it off at the dealer yesterday morning. Yesterday evening, they sent me a message and said they found metal in the rear end oil so now they are waiting on parts and those will hopefully be in next week. When I mentioned that I thought they already ordered everything they needed, they said when they pulled it apart they found the damage that they couldn't detect on first inspection.

So maybe there's more damage than just the differential? Or they just guessed the first time on what was wrong? Either way, It's sitting at the dealer, hopefully it will be fixed in a week.

...it's also getting worse with the recently passed (at least I think it was) that doesn't allow manufacturers to impose restrictions on dealers from adding markups and such.
Gee, I wonder who managed to get all of these "consumer-friendly" (NOT) laws enacted?
Money talks.

Normally, a dealer would just R&R the unit for warranty.....what are they actually doing? How would they originally declare the RD unit bad without realizing the oil would be compromised?

If I were you, I'd keep a close eye on these guys....

So now it’s getting funny but not really. My update this week is they are waiting for bolts and they are on back order. So after diagnosing the problem, waiting for parts, then telling me they need to order parts after tearing open my rear end and now a week + later they don’t have the bolts to finish the job??

"Life in the Fast Lane" at Ford Motor Company. Or should I say the "Quick Lane" which is really a poor description of their rapid service side of the house.......:(:(

Had an annoying occurrence today as well. was at a stop light with my left arm/hand resting down by the window bottoms. Felt something sharp and realized the silver lining on the right rear window switch was peeling. WTF? Annoying quality issue.
Just noticed the same thing on my driver door window switch.
The last time I have seen a quality issue like this in any car was my 1975 Cutlass.

Unacceptable!

All of us first-time Maverick owners are the guinea pigs for what will be an ongoing ownership experiment for the next five years.

As a retired Ford engineer, what I think most people don’t get is Ford doesn’t re-engineer everything on an “all new” product.
This is a Focus platform which underpins many models. The switch gear are the same parts that are on literally millions of vehicles globally.

If this is a problem on a Maverick, this is a problem on Focus, Escape, Bronco Sport,Puma, etc.

Ok, the repair is completed. I've attached the repair order so you can see what they repaired and said. It was covered under warranty, thankfully. I did get a quick glance at the original bill and it was over $4k! Not sure I'd be happy paying for that after only 30k some miles of driving. Hopefully this one lasts longer!

Glad I just changed out my RDU fluid @ 17,000 miles- Fluid was trashed and the magnetic drain plug had all kinds of goo on it -
