We’re you able to confirm they are not shipping the newer version? I too have a bunch of points I would like to use for this unless it’s the felt version.
The newer version of the tonneau cover, X4s is a better design. I have liked mine so far except for the felt peeling. I had mine for a year and a half before that happened. I appreciate the dealer replacing it. The old version does have the Ford logo showing when it is rolled up. New version does not.

Within the last month I purchased the new version using my points through the dealer.

I bought this hard top tonneau cover for maverick from Amazon. That listing has 0 reviews so I took the chance and risk. Spent around $350 which is way too cheap to resist. Turned out, it is very very good. It not only fits, but also is very sturdy. My kid, who's over 120lbs, stood on top of it and it was fine. The only complaint was a little bit of water gets in after a heavy downpour. I bought some weather stripping from Homedepot and it solved it.

I think most tonneau covers leak a bit. I'm ok with that. I get some water at the corners. Biggest advantage is it keeps prying eyes from picking through whatever I have in the bed of my truck.

Some have received replacements under warranty through their dealer. They have been resdesigned. No more Ford logo when rolled up against the cab and the felt has been replaced with rubber like on the Bak X4S.
👆🏼what he said…. The manufacturer has moved away from the felt strip. Most people toss them and move on. They helped with chafing when rolled up but the spray-on is an improvement.

If you somehow manage to get a replacement the same thing will likely happen.

Yep... I completely expect the felt to come off again at some point. I appreciate Ford replacing mine. I can decide on replacing or a creative solution down the road.

I ordered the hard roll up with my truck and it must be the newer version. It didn't have the felt but the rubber pieces. Sadly it did not come with the visible Ford logo when rolled up but it does have a small logo in the left corner, closest to the tailgate when rolled flat.

I agree with your comments ... I have the exact same problem with the felt lining. Additionally, the cover was installed at the Ford dealership (cover was part of the sticker price add-ons). I am thinking it may be too far forward as there are gaps on both sides of the tailgate ... still trying to figure out if loosening clamps and sliding the cover slightly towards tailgate will resolve the issue. I probably will need to line the tailgate area with additional rubber seal.

Very disappointed with the Ford accessory cover. May sell it and by a Bak flip cover.
Update - finally got the felt and the snap-on clips (for holding in place when rolled up) replaced by the dealer under warranty. I am going to try and fix the gaps in the tailgate. If unable to do satisfactorily or if the felt gives further problems, then I will just buy a tri-fold cover, which is what I really want (worked great on the Honda Ridgeline I owned previously).

What does the felt do for it? Any reason not to remove it?
My understanding is that it is to protect the hands from the hot tonneau cover when sitting in the sun or hot days.

I just wanted to thank everyone in the thread. I bought a used Maverick with this cover and also have the issue with the felt coming off. I think when I have the time I will remove the cover, remove the felt, and adhere something else to it. Still trying to think of what it will be and it might end up being a 3d print (using an appropriate heat-resistant filament) project.

I have the Ford hard roll up cover and have had my truck for approx two weeks now and tons of rain latley, this cover is just terrible, and it is a big deal to some of us!

I was not expecting this, I purchased this cover b/c I travel long distance frequently, with my luggage in the back!

No, I was not expecting any leaking! It's leaking front back and both sides!

I have an appointment this Wed at the dealership in order for them to fix it, if they can't, I either want a new cover, a different type, or my money back! I mean there is a lot of rain that comes in..not just a bit!
I just can't have that much water in the back!

I had one on my dodge dakota for 20 year and never had any water come in, ever! dry as a bone, so all this water was very surprising for the money I paid, I would take your truck in if it's leaking!

If the Ford redesigned rollup tonneau cover has all of the fixes, does anyone have the Ford part numbers for the old (peeling felt design) and the new design (felt removed)? Then we will know which one we are buying
