Yeah camera blind spot. It was designated parking and I thought I was being clever by tucking in right next to the curb so I was only exposed on one side. It is a crazy busy dealership and the regular parking is really narrow. Someone must have backed into me and it had to be a car given how low it hit.
And out of the way so maybe it was designated employee parking???? Couple years back my sales lady and someone who worked at the dealer ship kissed each others fenders coming and going to lunch!!!

I was parked at a local Chevy dealer yesterday to get my wife's Volt serviced (New Spark Plugs) and parked my maverick up against a curb. Deliberately parked where I did to reduce exposure to other vehicles, as it is a busy parking lot. I got my Maverick last fall and it only has 2300 miles on it so far and I love the truck. Some (fill in the derogatory name of your choice here) hit my bumper and drove off. Nobody saw it, as I was inside setting up the service for my wife's car. I was literally away from the truck 10 minutes.

Not the end of the world but it follows a pattern. Every new truck I have owned in my life has been hit by someone within the first 10K miles of ownership so the curse continues. This is likely a full bumper replacement. Car drives fine. Thankfully no damage to panels, paint, etc. It is actually the least damage the curse has inflicted on one of my vehicles.

The last time was my new Tacoma at a Home Depot Parking lot. Right side of the truck. Deep scrapes covering the passenger door, back right panel as well with stone dust in the damage. Likely, someone with a pallet of landscaping stone scraping the entire side of my then truck with 4300 miles on it. It was over $6000 to repair (Paid by insurance)

I'm guessing this one will be maybe $1300. Progressive already approved it claim no fault; just waiting on the quote from the local shop I have used for years (They are fair and do great work)

I'll post pics of the truck after repairs. I did a lot of mods to it and it really looks nice. Desert Sand XL, 4K Tow, Window Louvers, Hood Protector, Mud Flaps, Leather Seat Covers, Tonneau Cover, etc. Nice set of street wheels.

A dang shame, and another person worthy of a clubbing...and I don't mean for a few drinks and dancing like you have no clothes on.

;-)

I read this as I guard my truck in a Michael's parking lot...women get a wild look when driving here, and some guys get the wild look when leaving....

I relax and sit and enjoy a cold mocha and walk around the truck getting my steps in.

I got my first little ding when my truck was a week old-ish...at a Canadian Tire by a little POS Honda, and the lot was empty! Still got me with the door. You can't see it, but I can.

Have a good one,

Andy

[/QUO the first nick or dent is the worst - many years ago i bought a brand new '83 Corolla - decided to have it undercoated by the dealer so they for some reason put the scissors jack inside the car. Anyways picked it up, went to the gas station to fill it up, while i was there I moved the jack to the trunk, just laid it on the mat, then took off, make a quick hard right and...the jack went sliding on over and put a small - but ALWAYS obvious - little outward dimple ding on the rear quarter panel that I just left alone for the next 10 years. Then a while later bought a used but beautiful red Celica hatchback, drove it home and what...oh look here's a road striping crew laying down yellow lanes...well let me get far away from that. Got home , went in the house, came out and saw..yeah i had run over one of the stripes and i had dried yellow splatters low on the front fender - trying to get that off was near impossible but after about 4 hours of very careful and persistent cleaning - it came off ...and so did that nice shine it used to have. As to the Maverick two weeks after I had it I was riding a new bike that was a 'little too tall' for me...but anyways pulled up in the driveway, went to get off of it but since it was too high I stumbled laying it down and...the left handbrake lever ran into the passenger door and put two distinct dimples on it. So...what have I learned here...it would appear I haven't learned anything as I keep screwing up.

This exactly. I thought about just popping it out but it did get the backup sensor to be sure. The thing is popping off when I back up now. Given how new the truck is I'm just going to bite the bullet, pay the deductible ($500) and get it fixed.
Now would be the time to buy a Lobo rear bumper & have it painted to match, get rid of the ugly that was on it from the factory.

I used to take my wife to Jo-ann's fabrics for crafting supplies. I went in once and after looking at fabric, Styrofoam animals, etc. I started to get a headache. On subsequent visits, I stayed in the truck and looked in the parking lot to see maybe 5 or 6 other guys sitting in their trucks waiting on their spouses who were inside vibing with the fabrics etc. (Silent nod)

Looks like I wasn't alone :)

🤓 I got me something like that, at a parking lot where I went to see a foot doctor. Not nearly as bad as that one though. And it seems to be popping itself back out.
