So I talked to the dealer and they contacted Ford to see what happened. Ford said the system gave the same order code for my order and someone else so when their order came through it canceled my order. Waited 9 months for nothing. The dealer said he had one coming in I would have first chance to buy. I hope this all works out.

Sounds like it's one where the order number belonged to a 2022 that had a cancelled vin, and the dealer didn't change the 2023 order number to avoid conflict. An incompetent dealer wouldn't surprise me.

But that's just a guess.

This was a new order on 9-19-2022 not a carry over.
Right, but the other order might have been a cancelled VIN.

No matter what, the only way an order number gets duplicated is if a dealer screwed it up.

I ordered My 2023 Maverick hybrid on 09-19-22 and have checked on it at least once a month, sometimes four times a month. Today when I called Ford Customer Service I was put on hold twice then they finally came back and said they couldn't find my order but they would give me a gift card for my trouble.. They said I needed to call my dealer, I called the dealer and they said they hadn't canceled it. My dealer said they had all of the paper work on my truck and it should still be on order. They are calling Ford and will let me know something today. Why would Ford cancel my order?
My order got canceled too. Ordered 09/20/22 XLT Hybrid. I contacted my dealer on 23 and manager replied me on 25the stating that everything looks fine and he sent me the copy of order summary which is showing the proof of document preview time and priority 19 along with sales code and all with ford logo.
I was calling ford monthly once because I never received conformation email from ford but they can see my order active. when I called back last week FORD CS told me my order got canceled due to dealer failed submit COVP by June 2nd. I contacted dealer they never received any information like that and they already uploaded my license while booking.
My dealer also contacted ford and they received the same message and my dealer is saying he have no clue . He asking me to rebook 2024 model the banks opening 3rd week of July.
Is any one got contact # to reach some higher rank people at ford who can help me out please share with me.- Thanks

Are you saying your dealer submitted the COVP paperwork when you ordered in September? Did you change anything on your order since then?

Your dealer should of confirmed your order was COVP'd last month when Ford told them it is now required.

Only the dealer can try to contact the Regional Manager and check into your order and why it was canceled. You didn't order from Ford, the dealer did. It was thought Ford might keep the bad orders at Priority Code 99 for a time but the last report showed they had deleted 4,000 PC 99 orders.

Ford changed the PC to 99 on the orders that were not properly COVP'd.

This has happened to other people. If the dealer reuses an order code, someone gets screwed.

IIRC Tim @ Long McArthur may have covered it in a Youtube video

I usually call 1 800 334 4375 - Ford Marketing. Have you called them?
I called every Quarter to FoMo marketing since Q1/22 6 times is a charm!

The dealer admitted they entered my customer order number incorrectly when they were submitting COVP by June 2nd. This is what caused Ford to cancel my order.
