Hi I am interested in getting a Motorola MA1. I know it comes with a cable for USB a type connector. However I see conflicting information on if it has a USB c connector on the device itself. This way I can use a USB c cable. Some reviews I have read say it does not, others say it does. Also does it connect to the phone via wifi or BT? Kinda new to Android Auto but having to plug in the phone and dealing with the wires is a hassle. Lariat Lux so I can charge via the wireless charging.

It is a fixed cable with a USB A connector. Your bluetooth still needs to enabled for it to work.

Thanks, some reviews I have read said it has a USB c on the device. So much for some of these reviews. Unless Motorola changed it.

USB A to USB C adapters (or vice-versa) are fairly inexpensive.

I have no use for the USB C port in the front of the cab, so plugged a C to A adapter into that port and popped a flash drive with music on it into the adapter.

True I try to avoid adaptors when I can. Makes for a cleaner install.

Also anyone know if the USB powers off when the truck is off? I know the 12v does but does take a while.

If you'd rather not use an adapter then consider the AAWireless. By default it comes with a USB-A adapter but unlike the Motorola the cable is interchangeable so you can switch to a USB-C to -C.

Thanks heard that was a good one too. All seem to be about the same price.

The Motorola MA1 states that it is compatible with "most phones with Android 11 or later."

I never could get it to work with my Blackview 9800.

It came with a USB A connector.

Instead, I just fiddle with cords and USB drives.

It stays on after you turn off truck. Not sure of exact time but it does stay on for a little bit.

On my '22 XL the ones on the front of cab panel (including the 12v 'cigarette lighter' slot) stay on when the engine is shut off until the driver door is opened or for a set period if door is not opened. Never actually timed it - maybe about 10 minutes as a guesstimate.

The ones behind the center console (IIRC) stay on for a set period regardless. Never timed those either but it may be longer.

That's like the 12volt too. Not sure how long but it's a fair amount. I have a radar detector plugged into that. Turned the truck off after a half hour it was still on. I then set up the detector to turn off if it hasn't moved in 15 minutes. I found that the 12v does turn off but takes more than a half hour.
