The Panhead is less than 700 lb for sure maybe a bit less than that. I think to make this work (with a tailgate and receiver hitch both rated for a max of 400 lb each) I will temporarily attach the heavy duty plywood (reinforced?) to the very front of the bed floor (not tie-downs) so that weight on the far end will be not extreme due to the stiffness of the base. At this point I'm just spitballing, but I can't think of anything different right now, and I want to avoid the trailer if at all possible.

Sounds like that might work with reinforce plywood to distribute the weight better, especially anchoring it down.

I was on the fence about the Maverick, but seeing the picture of the 2 dirt bikes in the bed sold me. This is my current setup to haul my 2020 KX450 to the track

Besides that bike, I have a 2015 gsx-s750

And a 2012 TE511 supermoto

Wow you tow with that little car? Is that a Fiat 500?!! I wouldn't have thought a car like that could tow anything! I like you're ability to adapt and overcome!! A Maverick will certainly be great for your needs!!

It's rated for 1500lbs and I've tested that limit lol

I'll bet that was an awesome trip! I once rode from Maryland to Arizona and it was a blast!
