Sounds like that might work with reinforce plywood to distribute the weight better, especially anchoring it down.The Panhead is less than 700 lb for sure maybe a bit less than that. I think to make this work (with a tailgate and receiver hitch both rated for a max of 400 lb each) I will temporarily attach the heavy duty plywood (reinforced?) to the very front of the bed floor (not tie-downs) so that weight on the far end will be not extreme due to the stiffness of the base. At this point I'm just spitballing, but I can't think of anything different right now, and I want to avoid the trailer if at all possible.
